How to Get There: A Seamless Connection Guide
The Bird's Nest (National Stadium) is located in the core area of the northern central axis of Beijing, with a very developed transportation network.
- Metro (most recommended) : Take Metro Line 8 or 15 to "Olympic Park" Station, exit from Exit D/E, and walk for about 5 to 10 minutes to reach the destination easily. This is the best way to avoid ground traffic congestion.
- By bus: Take bus No. 82, 419, 538, 645, etc. and get off at "East of National Stadium" or "North of Beichen West Bridge" stop.
- By car/taxi: Navigate to "National Stadium (Bird's Nest)". There are parking lots around the venue. Important Notice: When large-scale events or concerts are held at the Bird's Nest, temporary traffic control measures will be implemented on the surrounding roads and parking lots may be closed earlier. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to choose public transportation for travel on event days.
Best visiting time
The Bird's Nest can be visited all year round, but the best experience is achieved by combining the climate and activities.
- Spring and Autumn Golden seasons (April to May, September to October) : The climate in Beijing is the most pleasant, with clear blue skies and sparse clouds. It is very suitable for strolling in the Olympic Park and taking pictures of the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube during the day and night. It is an excellent time for sightseeing and photography.
- Summer Vitality Season (June - August) : The park is shaded by green trees and the nights are cool. This is the peak period for all kinds of concerts and commercial activities, and the atmosphere inside and outside the venue is very lively. It is necessary to pay attention to heatstroke prevention and sun protection, and check the schedule in advance.
- Winter special season (November - March of the following year) : There are relatively fewer tourists. If you encounter a snowy day, the bird's Nest, covered in white, will have a unique serene and solemn charm. You can combine a visit to the nearby Winter Olympics venue, the "Ice Cube", to experience the charm of the dual-Olympic city.
