Nature's Creation – A Flowing Blue Treasure Trove
The most touching core of Ocean Kingdom is its respect for and wonderful presentation of marine life itself.
Whale Shark Pavilion: A Tranquil Sanctuary for the Giants of the Deep Sea
This is the soul of Ocean Kingdom, boasting five Guinness World Records. Stepping inside feels like instantly sinking into the tranquil depths of the ocean. The most breathtaking experience is witnessing, through the world's largest acrylic glass viewing screen (8.3 meters high and 39.6 meters wide), the massive whale shark (the largest fish in the world) swimming gracefully like a spaceship, while thousands of rare fish (such as manta rays and Napoleon wrasses) form a magnificent storm of schools of fish. This scene is not only a visual feast but also a silent education about the scale of life and biodiversity.
The Polar World: The Contrasting Charm of Glaciers and Adorable Creatures
In the "Polar Adventure" area, you can experience the scenery of both poles of the Earth simultaneously. In the penguin enclosure, board the specially designed "Polar Adventure" sailboat to traverse glaciers and observe the world's largest emperor penguins and lively Adelie penguins frolicking and diving in the realistic low-temperature environment. Meanwhile, in the polar bear enclosure, you can witness the largest land carnivore displaying its adorable antics and power in the snow and water. The exhibit cleverly integrates environmental protection and climate change themes into the visitor experience.
Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins and Manatee Mountain: Home of rare native species
The park features a special exhibition area for Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins, a rare animal known as the "giant panda of the sea" and a Class I protected species in China. Visitors can observe their graceful, pinkish-grey plumage up close and learn about their conservation status. Meanwhile, "Manatee Mountain" is home to the seemingly clumsy yet elegant West Indian manatees (the prototype for mermaids), whose leisurely grazing on aquatic plants in the underwater garden is a scene straight out of a fairytale.
Humanistic craftsmanship – an engineering miracle that brings fantasy to reality
Ocean Kingdom not only showcases nature, but also utilizes cutting-edge human imagination and technology to create joy that transcends reality.
Parrot Roller Coaster: The Steel Dragon Through the Rainforest
As the park's most thrilling signature attraction, this Dutch-made flying roller coaster boasts a nearly 1,300-meter-long track that winds its way through mysterious rainforests, lakes, and caves. Riders experience nearly three minutes of weightlessness and exhilarating speed as they ascend, plunge, and flip, overlooking the entire Ocean Kingdom from different perspectives – a true test of courage and adrenaline.
Themed Zones and Immersive Design: A Fantastic Journey Through Eight Worlds
From the German fairytale-like "Dolphin Bay" to the colorful Caribbean pirate-themed "Rainforest Flight"; from the ocean-themed "Ocean Wonders" to the cyberpunk-style "Hengqin Sea" at night... the eight themed areas each possess distinct cultural characteristics and architectural styles. Every shop, restaurant, and even streetlight has been meticulously designed to ensure that visitors are completely immersed in a fantastical ocean story that transcends reality from the moment they step inside.
A Multimedia Performing Arts Extravaganza: The Resonance of Light and Emotion
- Ocean Night Parade: As night falls, a dreamlike procession of floats, stretching over a hundred meters, carrying luminous jellyfish, whale sharks, elves, and other figures, illuminates the entire park with enchanting music.
- Ocean Defense Battle: The grand finale. Combining a formation of 300 drones, large-scale lasers, explosive special effects, fountains, water jetpack performers, motorcycle stunts, and dazzling fireworks, a just battle to protect the ocean was staged in the middle of Hengqin Sea. Its technological integration and artistic expression are world-class.
Photography Tips:
In front of the giant glass of the whale shark aquarium, it is recommended to use a wide-angle lens to capture the breathtaking scene of people and giant fish in the same frame. To avoid the crowds, you can try shooting silhouettes from a low angle.
The Parrot Roller Coaster's bend on the lakeside offers a fantastic vantage point for capturing its full view and reflection in the water.
To capture the spectacular "battle for the ocean" at night, you need to secure a central position on the Hengqin coast beforehand and use a tripod for long exposures to capture the dazzling trails of fireworks and light.
During animal theater performances, you can turn on burst mode to capture the exciting moments of beluga whales and dolphins leaping out of the water.
