Do the pandas get fed during our visit? I want to see them eat bamboo!

Yes—feeding time is around 9:00 AM, right when we’re there. You’ll watch them chomp on bamboo stalks (they eat 20kg a day!)—it’s fascinating to see how quickly they munch.

Probably the ear cleaning at People’s Park! Most guests are nervous at first but leave raving about how relaxing it is. It’s a tiny, quirky part of Chengdu life you won’t find anywhere else.

What’s the difference between Jinli Street and Chunxi Road? Should I visit both?
Answered by intotravelchina |
July 28,2025 11:50
Jinli is ancient, with traditional snacks and crafts. Chunxi Road is modern—think shopping malls and street food. We include Jinli in the tour, but our guide can point you to Chunxi if you want to explore it after hours.

What’s the ear cleaning service like at People’s Park? Is it weird?

It’s a unique local tradition! Skilled workers use tiny tools to gently clean your ears—it’s surprisingly relaxing, like a mini massage. Totally optional, but fun to try for a true Chengdu experience.

Are there baby pandas at the research base? I’ve seen cute videos of them.

It depends on the season! Baby pandas (cubs) are usually born in summer, so visiting July-September gives you the best chance to see them. Our guide will check the latest updates before your tour to let you know.
