The Red Land is located at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,600 meters. It’s a comfortable altitude for most travelers, with a very low chance of severe altitude sickness. To ensure you’re fully at ease, our private vehicle will transport you directly from Kunming, a journey of about 2.5 to 3 hours, allowing you to enjoy the scenery without any travel stress.

What will the weather be like? What clothes should I pack?

The area has a plateau monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of about 13°C. The best seasons are spring and autumn. Evenings can be cool, and there’s a significant temperature difference between day and night. We recommend packing light layers for the day, along with a warm jacket and windbreaker for the cooler mornings and evenings. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential due to the strong UV rays at this altitude.
