Is it worth visiting on a hazy or cloudy day? What if the visibility is poor?

Shanghai experiences hazy days, particularly in summer and during certain weather patterns. If the visibility is low (under 5 km), the view from the top will be limited — you'll see the immediate skyline but distant landmarks will be obscured. However, the observation deck experience is still impressive: the sheer height, the high-speed elevator ride, and the interactive exhibits (Sky Wish Tree, Sky Post Office) make it worthwhile even when it's not perfectly clear. If your schedule allows flexibility, try to visit on a clear morning when visibility is usually best. Late autumn and winter tend to have the clearest skies. Most visitors find the experience memorable regardless of the weather.

Should I visit during the day or at night for the best experience?

Both have their strengths, and many visitors do both if time allows.
