Three Gorges Family Scenic Area--Three Gorges Dam--Three Gorges Ship Lift or Qu Yuan Temple

5+ Star Luxury Hotel

Breakfast & Lunch &Dinner

After having a hearty breakfast on the cruise ship or at your accommodation onshore (perhaps enjoy some local Hubei-style breakfast like hot dry noodles, which are chewy and full of flavor with a savory sauce and various toppings), set off for the Three Gorges Family Scenic Area. This place is a living museum that showcases the unique folk culture and idyllic lifestyle along the Yangtze River.
Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by the beautiful natural scenery. There are traditional stilted houses built along the riverbanks, with fishermen casting their nets just like in ancient times. Walk along the stone paths winding through the greenery and explore the old villages. You can watch local folk performances, such as Tujia ethnic dances and traditional wedding shows, which vividly display the local customs and traditions. Don't forget to take pictures of the charming wooden bridges spanning the clear streams and the women washing clothes by the water, as these scenes truly capture the essence of life in this riverside area.
After lunch, make your way to the world-renowned Three Gorges Dam. This engineering marvel is an awe-inspiring sight. Take a guided tour to learn about its construction history, the functions it serves in flood control, power generation, and improving shipping conditions. Walk along the viewing platforms to admire the massive scale of the dam, with its imposing concrete structures stretching across the river. You can see the water levels on both sides of the dam, and if you're lucky, witness the spectacular scene of water gushing out from the spillways during the flood discharge period.
Depending on your preference and time availability, you can choose to visit either the Three Gorges Ship Lift or Qu Yuan Temple.
If you opt for the Three Gorges Ship Lift, you'll get to see this remarkable piece of machinery in action. Shennong Stream--Wu Gorge--Qutang Gorge--Baidi City or The Summit of the Three Gorges

5+ Star Luxury Hotel

Breakfast & Lunch &Dinner

Start your day with a delicious breakfast on the cruise ship. Then, head to the boarding point for Shennong Stream. Once you board the small boats that will take you along Shennong Stream, get ready to be enchanted by its natural beauty. The stream is known for its crystal-clear water, flanked by lush green mountains on both sides. As you drift along, you'll pass through narrow gorges where the water is calm and reflective, creating mirror-like surfaces. You can also observe the local boatmen skillfully rowing the traditional wooden boats, and sometimes they might even sing folk songs, adding a touch of local charm to the journey. Along the way, look out for unique rock formations and waterfalls cascading down the cliffs.

After finishing the tour of Shennong Stream, head back to the cruise ship for lunch. After lunch, as the cruise ship sets sail again, you'll enter Wu Gorge. Admire the steep and magnificent mountains on both sides of the gorge, which seem to touch the sky. The peaks are often shrouded in mist, giving the whole scene an ethereal and mysterious look. You can spot various rock formations that have been given interesting names based on their shapes, like the "Twelve Peaks of Wu Gorge," and listen to the stories and legends behind them from the onboard guides.

Next, you'll come to Qutang Gorge, which is famous for its grandeur and narrowness. The gorge is like a gateway, with the Yangtze River flowing through it with great force. The sheer cliffs on either side are a sight to behold, with ancient inscriptions carved on some of them that tell tales of the past. Take in the breathtaking views as the ship maneuvers through this majestic part of the river.
Based on your personal choice and the available time, you can decide to visit either Baidi City or The Summit of the Three Gorges. If you choose Baidi City, it's a historical site filled with ancient buildings and cultural relics. Walk along the stone paths and visit the temples and pavilions within. You can learn about the historical events and figures associated with this place, such as the story of Liu Bei entrusting his son to Zhuge Liang. The city also offers panoramic views of the surrounding river and mountains, making it a great spot for taking pictures. Or, if you opt for The Summit of the Three Gorges, make your way to the viewing area where you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the entire Three Gorges region. Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!
