  • Yuyuan Garden--Zhujiajiao Ancient Town--Eye of Shanghai--Nanjing Road--the Bund

  • 4+ star hotels

  • Breakfast

After breakfast, we will head to Yuyuan Garden. It has a typical Jiangnan garden style, reflecting the artistic style of the southern gardens of the Ming and Qing dynasties, which is "quiet and beautiful, delicate and exquisite". The nearby Yuyuan Bazaar is a great place to sample local cuisine and explore traditional Chinese handicrafts.

Then you will go to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. This ancient town, located at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, is known as the "Pearl of Jiangnan".

Next, we will drive to the Shanghai World Financial Center, known as the "Eye of Shanghai", which is 474 meters high. From its 100th floor, you will have a panoramic view of Shanghai's modernity and feel the city's prosperity and vitality.

In the afternoon, we will take you on a stroll along Nanjing Road, a shopping paradise that is not only perfect for shopping but also for experiencing the modern atmosphere of Shanghai.

Afterwards, we'll head to the Bund, a former cargo transportation route that has been transformed into a bustling trade area. Here you will witness a perfect blend of Chinese and Western cultures while taking in the breathtaking skyline of Shanghai.

Idea for Evening Activities

Q & A

Is hotel pickup and drop-off included, or just the tour itself?
Yes, our private car service includes pickup from your Shanghai hotel in the morning and drop-off back to your hotel in the evening. If you're arriving at the airport or train station that morning, we can also pick you up there and start the tour directly—just tell us your arrival details.
We visit Zhujiajiao and then come back to Lujiazui—won't the day feel too packed?
The day is full but well-paced. We leave in the morning for Yuyuan Garden, then head to Zhujiajiao (about 1 hour drive). After a relaxing lunch and stroll there, we return to the city center for the SWFC, Nanjing Road, and the Bund. The private car saves you transit time, and we can always trim something if you'd like a slower rhythm.
Lunch and dinner are not listed. Can you recommend places, or arrange meals for us?
Sure. At Zhujiajiao, your guide can recommend a waterside restaurant for a relaxed local lunch. For dinner, the area near Nanjing Road and the Bund has plenty of good options—Cantonese, Shanghainese, or international. If you prefer, we can pre-book both meals at well-reviewed restaurants.
The hotel is 4+ stars. Can we request an extra bed, or upgrade to a higher room category?
Yes. Most 4-star hotels can add an extra bed for a supplement. If you'd like a suite or a 5-star upgrade in Shanghai, let us know early, and we'll check availability and quote the price difference.
Is Nanjing Road a guided walk, or do we get free time to shop?
Your guide will walk you along the main stretch of Nanjing Road, pointing out historic landmarks, then you'll have free time to explore shops at your own pace. We'll agree on a meeting point and time so you can shop without feeling rushed.
Our flight lands at 8 AM. Can the driver pick us up at the airport and start the tour straight away?
Absolutely. We'll meet you at arrivals with a name sign, help with luggage, and head directly to Yuyuan Garden. The car is spacious enough for suitcases, so you don't need to stop at the hotel first. If you prefer to freshen up, we can also make a quick hotel stop—just let us know.
Can we adjust the order or swap a site? For example, skip Zhujiajiao and spend more time at the Bund?
Of course. As a private tour, flexibility is key. If you'd rather replace Zhujiajiao with another activity or simply slow down, just let your guide know—even on the day. We're here to make the day yours.

What's the best time to visit Yuyuan Garden to avoid the crowds?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 23,2025 11:03
Generally, early in the morning right after opening hours is a great time to visit Yuyuan Garden. There are fewer tourists, and you can fully appreciate the tranquil beauty of this Jiangnan - style garden.
