Recommended one-day cycling itinerary in Shanghai:

10:00 Depart from the bicycle base, ride to Wukang Building and visit the historical buildings of Wukang Building.

11:00 Ride along Wukang Road - Anfu Road - then Changle Road - South Maoming Road - Nanchang Road, visit the famous alleyway in Shanghai - Huaihai Square (if interested, experience the production of Paint Fan for 30 minutes).

12:00 Ride to Fuxing Park, experience Shanghai local lifestyle, square dancing, playing Tai Chi, writing calligraphy, etc., you can interact with local elderly people in Shanghai playing their projects.

13:00 Tianzifang, experience various handicrafts and taste traditional food and snacks.

14:00 Yuyuan Garden and Chenghuang Temple, experience the architecture of Ming and Qing Dynasty and Jiangnan gardens.

15:00 Ride to the Bund, experience the architecture and history of the Bund.

16:00 Ride out of the Bund to People's Square, the guide will introduce the Shanghai Museum and other buildings, and take pictures. If it is Saturday or Sunday, there is also the famous Matchmaking Corner in the People's Park next to the Bund, so you can feel the atmosphere of the matchmaking market in Shanghai.

17:00 Final ride back to the bike base, have a free cup of coffee at the second floor cafe, sit down for a rest and chat, and pass the photos and videos to the guests. You can also print your favorite photo on the spot.

If required - a night tour of the Huangpu River can be arranged on payment.

How long is the total cycling distance, and is it suitable for casual riders?
The route is about 15–18 km with plenty of stops, all on flat city streets. It's designed for relaxed sightseeing, not a workout. Even if you haven't cycled in a while, you'll be fine—the pace is gentle, and we take breaks every 20–30 minutes.
Are the bicycle and helmet included? What type of bike do you provide?
Yes, a well-maintained city bike and a helmet are included in the price. Our bikes are comfortable hybrid models perfect for city riding. You're welcome to bring your own helmet if you prefer. We'll also do a quick safety check before we set off.
Where do we meet? Is hotel pickup included, or do we need to get to the bike base ourselves?
We meet at the bike base near the former French Concession. We can arrange hotel pickup for a small additional fee, or you can take a taxi—the cost is reimbursable. The exact meeting point with photos will be sent a day before the tour.
Is the 30-minute paint fan experience in Huaihai Square included? Do we need to book it?
It's an optional hands-on activity, and the small material fee (usually around RMB 50) is paid directly to the studio. No advance booking is needed—your guide will check if you're interested on the spot and arrange it immediately.
Is cycling in Shanghai safe? Are there bike lanes?
The route follows mostly quiet streets in the former French Concession and dedicated riverside bike paths along the Bund. Your guide leads the way and keeps the group together. Helmets are mandatory, and we brief you on local riding etiquette before starting.
Can we adjust the route or spend more time at a particular spot?
Absolutely, this is a private tour. If you want to linger at Fuxing Park or skip Tianzifang, just tell your guide. We'll adapt the schedule to your interests on the fly.
