After breakfast, we will take the high-speed train to Hangzhou. You will check in to your hotel and have a short rest before departing for West Lake.
The West Lake is a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its tranquility and beauty. It is surrounded by scenic hills and dotted with temples, pagodas, and gardens. Your tour of the West Lake will begin with a leisurely 45-minute cruise during which you can enjoy serene views of the lake, ancient pagodas, and lush gardens.

In the morning, you will visit Feilai Peak, also known as the "Faraway Flying Peak". According to legend, this peak was flown to China from India on a mission to spread Buddhism.

We will continue to visit the neighboring Lingyin Temple, which is one of the oldest and most famous Buddhist temples in China. The temple houses a large collection of Buddhist scriptures, statues, and artifacts.

In the afternoon, you will head to Meijiawu Tea Village, where you can choose to participate in activities such as tea picking and tea tasting.

After the journey in Hangzhou, you will take the high speed train to Wuzhen.

Wuzhen is a typical Chinese water down, known as "China's last waterfront home".

Today you will come to West Part of Wuzhen, which is one of the most prosperous and beautiful places in Wuzhen. Over the past thousand years, Wuzhen has not changed its name, water system, or way of life. It is a living museum for an ancient civilization's history, food, and traditions. You can wander around here, buy handicrafts and taste local food.

Then you will embark on a tour of East Part of Wuzhen. It is one of the earliest places in Wuzhen, and has a more living atmosphere than Xijie. You will visit the main attractions such as Mao Dun's Former Residence, Lin Family Shop and Lizhi Academy. And don't miss the folk performances and handicraft displays along the way.

Then we will go to Nanxun Ancient Town. Nanxun Ancient Town is not only one of the six ancient towns in Jiangnan, but also China's first ancient town in Jiangnan to be included in the World Heritage List, known as the “first town in Jiangnan”.

In Nanxun Ancient Town, you will feel a different flavor from Wuzhen.

As the tour comes to an end, we will drive back to Hangzhou to transfer you to the airport or train station to your next destination.

Q & A

Are the West Lake cruise, Feilai Peak, and Lingyin Temple entrance fees included?
Yes, the 45-minute West Lake cruise, Feilai Peak, and Lingyin Temple are all covered. You won’t need to pay extra for these core sights. Your guide will have the tickets ready so you can walk straight in.
Day 2 covers West Wuzhen, East Wuzhen, and Nanxun Ancient Town. Won’t that feel rushed?
It’s a full day, but we’ve planned it efficiently. West Wuzhen is best in the evening or early morning, East Wuzhen is compact, and Nanxun is a relaxed stroll. Your private car cuts travel time between towns. If you prefer a slower pace, we can spend less time at one stop or skip Nanxun—just tell your guide.
Where do we stay overnight? Is the hotel a 4-star, and is it inside Wuzhen scenic area?
You’ll stay in or near Wuzhen. We use well-reviewed 4-star standard hotels or boutique guesthouses with modern comforts. If you’d like to stay inside the scenic area for the full water-town atmosphere, we can arrange that too—just let us know your preference when booking.
Can we add an extra bed or upgrade the room? What about breakfast?
Most of our partner hotels can add an extra bed for a supplement. Upgrading to a higher room category is possible with advance notice. Breakfast is included on Day 2. Just tell us your needs, and we’ll confirm the best option for your group.
What’s the weather like in Hangzhou and Wuzhen? What should we pack?
Both places have a similar climate—mild in spring and autumn, hot and humid in summer, chilly in winter. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for stone paths. A light rain jacket or umbrella is wise year-round. We’ll send a specific forecast and packing list before your trip.
Is Wuzhen safe and enjoyable at night? Can we explore on our own in the evening?
Absolutely. Wuzhen’s West Part is especially beautiful at night with lanterns and reflections on the water. It’s very safe. After the guided portion, you can wander at your own pace, enjoy a tea house, or take a night stroll. Your guide will give you a meeting point and time, and the car is always nearby.
What is the difference between Wuzhen and Nanxun? Are both worth visiting?
Wuzhen is lively and well-known, with West Part being more scenic and East Part more historic. Nanxun is quieter, with a blend of Chinese and Western architecture and a more laid-back atmosphere. They complement each other perfectly—Wuzhen gives you the classic water-town buzz, while Nanxun offers a peaceful, authentic glimpse. Most guests enjoy both.
