Early in the morning, you will leave the flat plains of Chengdu and visit the Siguniang Mountain(Four Girls Mountains), which is reputed by some to be the "Oriental Alps.", It stands in the remote distance, like fou beautiful Tibetan girls dressed in white scarves.
On the way, we will stop at the Cat's Nose Bridge Viewing Platform to take photos, which is the best place to see the panoramic view of Four Girls Mountains.
After lunch, you will head to Shuangqiao Valley, which is known as the most beautiful valley within the Four Girls Mountains, and is also the scenic spot with the deepest development, the richest scenery and the most suitable for mass tourism. You can choose to take the scenic spot sightseeing bus directly to the terminal redwood forest, and then return to visit each attraction one by one. So that you can not only save energy, but also can fully enjoy the beauty.
In the evening, our guide and driver will transfer you back to the hotel.

Changping Vally or Haizi Vally

In the morning, depending on your choice, we will go to Changping Valley or Haizi Valley to start the hiking tour.
1) Changping Vally Hiking: It has mature hiking routes, primitive forest experience, and you can see the Missy Peak, which is the ideal place to see the scenery of Four Girls Mountains from a close distance.
You will start your trek with a scenic bus ride to Lama Temple (5km). The first half of the trek is along a footpath, where you will witness the tranquil beauty of waterfalls, deep valleys, while the second half takes you deeper into the wild forest to see sea buckthorn forests, red rocky beaches, highland lakes, herds of cows and goats, as well as the mighty Four Girls' Mountains and glaciers. The entire hike takes about 8 hours, after which you will return by sightseeing bus.
2) Haizi Vally Hiking: It has the highest elevation, with alpine lakes and snow-capped mountains, more primitive, is a paradise for photographers.
The first half of the hike is spent strolling through highland meadows, viewing and photographing the Four Girls Mountains. The second half of the hike passes through more than ten alpine lakes such as Floating Sea, Blue Sea, etc. The water of the lakes is crystal clear, reflecting the green mountains and blue sky, and the scenery is extremely spectacular. The whole hike takes about 8-9 hours.

The scenic area provides horses to transfer luggage and horseback riding services; if you do not want to walk can choose to ride horses.

Four Girls Mountains--Dujiangyan Irrigation Project--Qingcheng Mountain

Early in the morning, we will drive to Dujiangyan.
The first thing that strikes you is this great 2,000 year old irrigation system. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its remarkable design of diverting water without a dam. It is one of the world's unique water wonders.
Afterwards, you will go to visit Qingcheng Mountain, which is admired nation wide for its“peerless tranquility" and its historical sites of Taoist culture. In 142 A.D., Zhang Ling, the founder of Taoism, was enlightened here and spread the teachings of Taoism.
Finally, we will head to Laojun Pavilion, a nine-story building that stands 33 meters high. Standing in the pavilion, you can overlook the magnificent panorama of Mount Qingcheng.
At the end of the day, we will transfer you back to your hotel in the center of Chengdu to rest.

Altitude across the three mountain days — what should we expect?
Plan for altitude from the first night. Siguniang town sits around 3,200 meters, so mild headaches and breathlessness are normal on arrival; we advise no alcohol, easy dinners and an early night. Day 2's viewpoints reach about 3,500–3,800 meters, and Day 3 treks climb to 3,700–4,500 depending on the valley. We carry oxygen, walk slowly, and shorten any day that needs it.
Shuangqiao Valley — is riding the bus to the top and walking down the right call?
Yes — ride up, walk down, every time. The shuttle (about 70 yuan) saves the steepest 600 meters of climbing and drops you near the redwood forest at roughly 3,800 meters; the return walk passes the Budala Peak viewpoint, Siguniang Co's reflections and Renshenguoping meadows, which is where the scenery lives. Budget 4–5 hours and catch the last shuttle if you ride back.
The horses on Day 3 — worth it, and how do they work?
Worth considering on Day 3, not Day 2. Local horsemen lead Tibetan horses for roughly 150–680 yuan depending on how far you ride, and they save real energy at altitude — useful if legs or weather turn. We book through licensed stations, never roadside touts, and usually suggest walking the first boardwalk section before deciding. Horses work in both Changping and Haizi.
What should we pack for the mountain days?
Think alpine trekking, not city sightseeing. Essentials: waterproof hiking boots, trekking poles (very helpful in Changping), three-layer clothing with a warm mid-layer and rain shell, sun hat, sunglasses and high-SPF sunscreen — UV is brutal above 3,500 meters. Add a daypack with water, high-calorie snacks, altitude medication and a small oxygen can; temperatures swing sharply from morning to afternoon.
Who suits this tour — and who should choose a softer Sichuan trip?
Pick this tour for real hiking with big views: Changping and Haizi are genuine treks, not boardwalks, so moderate-to-good fitness matters — expect 8–9 hours on Day 3 with altitude on top. Shuangqiao Valley, horses and flexible lengths let less-fit travelers join in. Skip it if severe altitude or knee problems are a concern; otherwise first-timers do fine with our pacing.
