1. Understanding Chengdu’s Train Stations

Chengdu is served by multiple railway stations, each catering to different routes and train types:

Chengdu East Railway Station: The primary hub for high-speed trains, offering quick connections to cities like Chongqing, Xi’an, and Kunming.

Chengdu South Railway Station: A secondary hub for high-speed trains and convenient for those in the southern part of the city.

Chengdu Railway Station (North): Primarily serves traditional trains, ideal for budget or long-distance travelers.

Chengdu West Railway Station: A smaller station serving select regional routes.

Tip: Check your train ticket carefully for the departure station and plan your travel time accordingly, as these stations are spread across the city.

2. Ticket Collection and Boarding Process

E-Tickets: If you book online via the official 12306 website or apps, you can board the train directly with your passport or ID.

Paper Tickets: Tickets purchased at stations or agencies need to be collected in advance. Look for “ticket collection” counters, often marked in English.

Tip: For international travelers, carry your passport, as it’s required for ticket collection and boarding.

3. Timing and Convenience Tips

Peak Times: During holidays like Chinese New Year, Golden Week, and summer vacations, train stations can be overcrowded, and tickets sell out quickly. Book tickets at least 2–4 weeks in advance during these periods.

Arrival Time: Arrive at the station 30–60 minutes before your train departs to account for security checks and navigation.

4. Language and Assistance

Most station signs are in Chinese and English, but for added convenience:

Use translation apps or carry the Chinese name of your destination.

Station staff and ticket machines may have limited English support; patience and preparation can save time.

By familiarizing yourself with Chengdu’s train stations, ticket options, and travel tips, you’ll be well-prepared for a seamless journey through Sichuan and beyond.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
