Beijing: A Gateway to Traditional Arts and Local Life

Beyond Beijing’s iconic palaces and temples lies a vibrant cultural scene rooted in tradition. Experience a Peking Opera Performance at the historic Liyuan Theatre or try your hand at Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Workshops in the city's cultural centers. For a culinary deep dive, take a Cooking Class in a traditional courtyard home, learning to craft Beijing specialties like dumplings or zhajiangmian (noodles with soybean paste). To explore Beijing’s spiritual heritage, visit the Lama Temple or participate in a Tai Chi Session at The Temple of Heaven Park.

Xi’an: Ancient Traditions and Local Heritage

Xi’an’s history comes alive through hands-on cultural experiences. Discover ancient craftsmanship at a Terracotta Warrior-Making Workshop, where you can mold your miniature soldier using traditional techniques. The city’s Shaanxi Folk Art Center offers lessons in Paper-Cutting, Shadow Puppetry, and Qin Opera, giving insight into local arts. For culinary enthusiasts, take a guided tour of the Muslim Quarter, learning about Xi’an’s rich Silk Road-influenced cuisine through tastings and street food cooking demonstrations.

Shanghai: Modern Art and Cultural Fusion

Shanghai’s cosmopolitan spirit blends tradition with modern creativity. Visit the M50 Art District, a vibrant enclave of contemporary studios and galleries showcasing cutting-edge art. Explore Shanghai’s literary and architectural heritage with a Historic Walking Tour of Tianzifang and Sinan Mansions, where colonial-era buildings house bookstores, galleries, and artisanal shops. For a cultural culinary journey, enroll in a Chinese tea ceremony Workshop, exploring traditional Tea Culture in an elegant setting. A night out at the Shanghai Grand Theatre for a modern dance or orchestra performance completes a sophisticated cultural experience.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
