Zhangjiajie National Forest Park--Bailong Elevator--Yuanjiajie Scenic Area--Tianzi Mountain

4+ stars Hotels

Breakfast & Lunch

After breakfast, we will venture into the breathtaking Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its towering sandstone pillars and mystical scenery that inspired the floating mountains in Avatar.

Our journey begins with a thrilling ride on the Bailong Elevator, the world's tallest outdoor elevator, ascending 326 meters up a cliffside. At the top, we will arrive in the scenic area of Yuanjiajie, where you'll stroll along winding paths among sky-high peaks, dense forest, and breathtaking vistas. Don't miss the "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain" and the natural stone bridge known as "First Bridge under Heaven".

Next, we'll transfer to Tianzi Mountain by shuttle bus, where you'll witness one of the most spectacular landscapes in China—rugged peaks rising above the clouds, deep ravines, and winding valleys that stretch far into the distance.

Evening Option:
In the evening, you may choose to enjoy the Charming Xiangxi Show, a captivating performance that brings together folk music, dance, and acrobatics to showcase the diverse ethnic cultures of Hunan Province. Performances usually start around 19:30.

Breakfast & Lunch

Morning
Begin with the Shili Hua Lang (Ten-Mile Gallery), where you'll stroll or take an eco-train past surreal sandstone peaks resembling ancient paintings. Continue to Jinbian Xi (Golden Whip Stream), following its emerald waters beneath 300-meter quartzite pillars. Spot playful macaques amid primordial ferns while marveling at formations like "Guardian Lion Peak" – a photographer’s paradise.

Afternoon
Ascend to Huangshi Zhai (Yellow Stone Fortress) via cable car. Stand atop this mesa (1,080m) for 360° views of the Avatar-inspired pinnacles and the "Sea of Clouds" phenomenon. Trek the cliff-hugging loop trail, passing "Star-Gathering Platform" and "Five-Finger Peak." Conclude at Da Yang Ba Guang Chang (Grand Oxygen Bar Square) in the park’s heart – breathe pristine air under forest canopy while reflecting on nature’s grandeur.

Q & A

What is the weather like in Zhangjiajie, and what should I pack?
Zhangjiajie has a mountain climate – cooler than the cities, with frequent rain and temperature drops at higher elevations. Pack layers: light clothes for lower areas, a warm jacket or fleece, waterproof hiking shoes, a raincoat (not just an umbrella – it gets windy), and a change of clothes in case you get wet. Sunscreen is also recommended for clearer days.
What type of accommodation is provided, and can I request upgrades?
We offer 1 night in a carefully selected 4-star hotel near the scenic area, with breakfast included. Extra beds, room upgrades to 5-star, or downgrades are available upon request – just contact us in advance. Mountain-view rooms are subject to availability, but we'll do our best to secure your preference.
How physically demanding is this 2-day tour? Any health tips?
This tour is quite physically demanding. Day 1 involves 999 stairs at Tianmen (or you can take the escalator for an extra fee) and walking on glass walkways. Day 2 includes moderate to heavy walking with stairs. Those with knee issues, heart conditions, or high blood pressure should consult a doctor beforehand. We recommend hiking poles (available on request) and taking frequent rests. We can adjust the pace to suit you.
Any special packing or practical tips for this short but intense tour?
Absolutely. Wear sturdy, non-slip hiking shoes – this is essential. Pack a small daypack with water, snacks, and a power bank. Carry a rain poncho (windproof) and a light jacket. For Tianmen's glass skywalk, note that large bags and tripods are not allowed – lockers are available. Also, bring some cash for snacks and souvenirs, as mobile signal may be weak in the mountains.
