  • Guandu Ancient Town - Haigeng Park - Yunnan Nationalities Village - Lake Dian

  • 4+stars Hotel

  • None

Early in the morning, you will arrive at Guandu Ancient Town, which has a history of more than a thousand years and is one of the birthplaces of ancient Yunnan culture.

You can stroll around the old town and taste the authentic Guandu Rice Noodles and other specialty snacks.

In the late afternoon, you will head to the Haigeng Park in Dianchi Lake, which is a great place for Kunming residents to relax. If you are lucky, you may see a few seagulls flying over your head.

Yunnan Nationalities Village is a tourist attraction that concentrates the essence of diverse ethnic cultures in Yunnan. It brings together the architectural styles, living customs, songs, dances, arts and festivals of more than 20 ethnic groups in Yunnan Province. Yunnan Nationalities Village also regularly organizes various ethnic festivals and cultural performances, such as Water Splashing Festival, Torch Festival, etc., so that tourists can experience the traditional festival atmosphere and joyful scenes of Yunnan's ethnic minorities.

Dianchi lake, the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province, is known as the “Pearl of the Plateau”. You can take a walk around the lake, ride around the lake or take a boat trip.

  • Stone Forest--Cuihu Lake--Kunming Old Street

  • 4+stars Hotel

  • Breakfast

In the morning, we will come to the Stone Forest,  which is regarded as “the essence of the world's karst landscape” and  listed as a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO. Taking a sightseeing bus,  we will go deep into the Boulder Forest Scenic Area, as if entering a  labyrinth of giant boulders. Along the way, you'll see towering  concentrations of rocky peaks and unique panoramas of rocky forests.

Next, we will continue by bus to the Little Stone Forest. Here you will have a chance to see the iconic stone “Asima”, a realistic boulder that resembles a graceful young lady.

While  you are visiting the Stone Forest, you can also experience the unique  charm of Yi ethnic minority culture, enjoy the traditional songs and  dances of the Yi people, and taste the authentic Yi cuisine.

Next, you can take a leisurely walk to the nearby Kunming Cuihu Park.  From November to March, black-headed gulls from Siberia migrate here,  where they spend the warm winter months and become a unique sight in the  park.

Then we went to Kunming Old Street, where many old buildings and streets are preserved. If in Chengdu there is Wide and Narrow Alley and in Shanghai there is Xintiandi, then in Kunming there is Kunming Old Street. You can taste authentic Yunnan cuisine and buy specialty handicrafts here.

  • Yunnan Wild Animal Park - Yunnan Departure

  • Breakfast

On the third day, we will come to Yunnan Wild Animal Park, featuring the "Animal Kingdom" of Yunnan. It is home to a large number of rare wild animals. You will take a sightseeing bus to visit the whole zoo, along the way you can see elephants, giraffes, rhinoceros and other animals.

As the day comes to an end, we will also bid farewell to Kunming. You will be transferred to the  airport for your flight or train to your next destination or home. We  hope you have a wonderful memory of this tour and look  forward to seeing you again.

Q & A

Is this 3-day tour too rushed? Do we have free time to explore on our own?
The itinerary is well-paced, with 2–3 attractions per day and enough time to enjoy each. We’ve left free time at Cuihu Park, the Old Streets, and Ethnic Villages for you to explore, shop, or relax at your own pace.
What's the weather like in Kunming? What should I pack?
Kunming is the "Spring City" – mild year-round with strong UV rays and large day/night temperature swings. Pack light layers, a jacket for cooler evenings, sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes. A foldable umbrella is useful for sudden showers.
What are the must-see highlights and best photo spots?
Don't miss the Stone Forest's limestone pillars, Dianchi Lake's sunset views with migratory birds (November–March), the colorful ethnic costumes at the Ethnic Villages, and the playful animals at the Wild Zoo. Cuihu Park's serene lake and the Old Streets' retro architecture are also perfect for photos.
