Q & A
This is a 1-day tour covering Yu Garden, Nanjing Road, the Bund, and a Huangpu River cruise — is the pace rushed?
Not at all! We‘ve designed a leisurely pace — about 2 hours for Yu Garden (with tea break), 45 minutes for Nanjing Road, 1.5 hours for the Bund and photo stops, and a 50-minute cruise. Total walking is around 12,000 steps. We keep it relaxed so you can truly soak in each experience.
What happens if it rains on the tour day?
We have a rainy-day backup plan: Yu Garden‘s covered corridors and pavilions offer shelter; the Huangpu River cruise has indoor cabins; and Nanjing Road has arcades. We’ll also provide umbrellas. Rain actually adds a poetic misty atmosphere to the garden — a different kind of charm!
Is there a dress code for Yu Garden or the Bund?
No strict dress code — just wear whatever makes you comfortable! Since there‘s a fair amount of walking, we strongly recommend comfortable sneakers. For the Bund’s riverside breeze, a light jacket is useful even in summer. Smart casual is perfectly fine everywhere.
The standard Huangpu River Cruise usually lasts about 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, you'll have enough time to see both the colonial - style buildings on The Bund and the modern skyscrapers in Pudong.

Sunset and early evening are the best times. During sunset, you can capture the beautiful colors of the sky reflecting on the Huangpu River and the V - shaped Pudong skyline. In the early evening, the buildings on The Bund and in Pudong are lit up, creating a stunning night view.

There are several great options. The First Food Hall has a wide variety of traditional Chinese snacks and souvenirs. For more upscale options, you can visit the flagship stores of well - known Chinese brands like Shanghai Tang, which offers high - quality silk products and traditional - style clothing.
