Breakfast
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven about 2 hours from Chengdu to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Leshan Giant Buddha.
It is 71 meters high, with ears as long as 7 meters, the backs of its feet as wide as 8.5 meters, and even its little fingernails are higher than those of a normal person. This giant Buddha was built in 713 A.D., and is a symbol of the ancient people's prayers for peace and prosperity, and protects boatmen from the dangers of the rapids.
You can start from the hill next to the Giant Buddha and climb up to the head of the Buddha to see it up close, then walk down the stone steps to the foot of the Buddha to enjoy the full view of it.(Please note that you may have to queue if you visit the Big Buddha during peak hours.)
Optional Activities
You can enjoy an amazing 30-minute boat ride. The boat will take you to the front of the Giant Buddha to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view.

Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding--Chengdu People's Park--Wuhou Shrine--Old streets of Jinli
Welcome to Chengdu, which is known as the "Land of Abundance".
In the morning, you will go to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This is not only a scientific research base for pandas around the world, but also a cozy home for more than a hundred of pandas. You will be able to observe pandas of all ages eating, playing, rolling on the ground and climbing trees.
In the afternoon, you will step into Chengdu People's Park to experience the unique leisure and ease of this city. Here you can order a pot of tea and take a nap or join the local people in a game of mahjong and experience the ear cleaning service.
Next, we drove to Wuhou Shrine, which is known as the "mecca of the Three Kingdoms" The most venerated memorial of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and other important Shu Han individuals. It is not only an important carrier of the Three Kingdoms culture, but also a treasure of ancient Chinese architectural and sculptural art.
As night falls, you will step into the old street of Jinli, which has ancient buildings, lots of Chengdu snacks and cuisines, and exquisite handicrafts that are lively and interesting folk performances. You will spend an unforgettable night here.

How long does it take to drive from Chengdu to Leshan, and is the private car comfortable?
The drive is about 2 hours each way in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. It’s a smooth highway route with scenic countryside views along the way, and your driver will make a comfort stop if needed.
Are the Leshan Giant Buddha entrance and the optional boat ride both included?
The entrance ticket is covered. The 30-minute boat ride is optional and paid on-site—usually around RMB 70–120. It’s a fantastic way to see the full Buddha from the river without climbing the stairs.
Is the stone staircase down to the Buddha’s feet very steep? Can older family members do it?
The steps can be steep and narrow, and there may be a queue during peak hours. Anyone with knee or mobility concerns is better off taking the boat ride—you’ll get the full panoramic view without the climb. Your guide will help you decide on the spot.
The Panda Base is in the morning. Will we see pandas actually being active?
Yes, mornings are the best time. Feeding time is usually between 8:30 and 10:30 AM, when pandas are busy eating bamboo, climbing, and wrestling. Your guide will time your visit to catch them at their liveliest.
Is the ear-cleaning service at People's Park included? How much is it?
It’s a fun optional experience, not included. It usually costs around RMB 30–50, paid directly to the master. It’s surprisingly relaxing and very Chengdu—your guide can help set it up.
Can we book a Sichuan opera face-changing show through you? Is it included?
It’s a recommended optional evening activity, not included. We can book tickets for you at popular venues like Shufeng Yayun and arrange transport to and from. You pay the ticket cost directly or through us.
Is the private car and English-speaking guide with us for the full two days?
Yes, a private vehicle and professional driver serve you exclusively for both days. An English-speaking guide is with you from morning pickup to evening drop-off, managing all tickets and logistics.
What if there’s a long queue at the Leshan Buddha staircase? Can we switch to the boat on the day?
Yes, your guide will check the queue situation on arrival. If the wait is too long, the boat ride is a perfect alternative and can be purchased on the spot. Many guests actually prefer the boat for its relaxing full-Buddha view.
