What kind of winter clothing and gear should I bring for such cold weather?
Beijing averages -5 to -10°C, while Harbin, Snow Town, and Yabuli can drop to -20 to -30°C. We recommend a down jacket, thermal underwear, wool socks, waterproof snow boots, hat, gloves, and a scarf. Don’t forget hand warmers and lip balm. We also provide hot water bottles and blankets in our vehicles.
Is there free time for independent exploration during the trip?
Yes. Each day we reserve late afternoons or evenings for you to wander—explore Beijing’s hutongs, stroll along Harbin’s Central Street, or enjoy Snow Town’s lantern-lit nightscapes. We believe in slow travel, and our private car gives you the flexibility to adjust stops as you wish.
Since there’s snow and ice everywhere, what safety precautions should we take while walking or hiking?
Wear non‑slip waterproof boots and walk slowly with short steps. At the Great Wall, use handrails; in Snow Town, follow cleared paths. We provide walking poles if needed, and our driver carries a first‑aid kit. Avoid carrying heavy bags—leave extras in the car.
