  • Huaqiangbei--Shenzhen Bay Park--Sea World Culture and Arts Center--Shekou Old Street
  • 4-star Hotels

After breakfast, we will begin our day at Huaqiangbei, one of the world’s largest electronics markets. Walking through this bustling district, you’ll be surrounded by towering buildings packed with vendors offering a staggering array of electronic goods—from smartphones and LED lights to circuit boards and tech accessories. It’s a true paradise for tech enthusiasts and a window into Shenzhen’s innovative spirit.

Then, we’ll head to Shenzhen Bay Park, a scenic coastal greenbelt stretching along the city’s southern shoreline. Take a leisurely stroll or rent a bike to explore the beautifully landscaped paths lined with palm trees, sea breezes, and open views of Hong Kong across the bay. The park is also home to mangrove wetlands, where migratory birds often gather.

After enjoying the sea breeze, we will stop for lunch and some shopping at The MixC and MixC World, two interconnected modern lifestyle centers in Shenzhen. With stylish interiors and a wide variety of global cuisine, this is a great place to sample Chinese fusion, sushi, or Western-style brunch. It’s also a shopping haven, featuring high-end fashion, cosmetics, and boutique local brands.

Next, we will visit the Sea World Culture and Arts Center, a modern architectural gem designed by Japan’s SANAA firm. Overlooking the sea, this cultural venue includes contemporary art exhibitions, creative design displays, interactive installations, and a scenic bookstore café. The center reflects Shenzhen’s international creativity and open-minded cultural development.

We will then move on to Shekou Old Street, a charming area filled with traditional buildings, street art, and foods. It offers a glimpse of the city’s maritime heritage and early urban life before Shenzhen’s modernization. Enjoy local snacks, browse small souvenir stalls, or simply relax in one of the neighborhood’s cozy teahouses.

Evening Option:

In the evening, you may choose to stay around Sea World Plaza, a lively waterfront destination offering diverse international restaurants, bars, and live music. Dine beside the sea and enjoy the nightly light and fountain show, where synchronized water jets and LED projections turn the square into a visual feast. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a full day of exploring Shenzhen.

Q & A

How do I pay for things if I don’t have Alipay or WeChat?
Download Alipay or WeChat Pay before you arrive, link your foreign Visa or Mastercard, and you can scan QR codes everywhere—you can also withdraw cash from over 4,000 ATMs that accept foreign cards, or get a digital RMB "hard wallet" card at the airport in under 3 minutes using your passport.
Is the Shenzhen Metro easy to use for English speakers?
Yes—the metro has English signage throughout, many stations have dedicated "Passport Lane" blue signs with staff trained to help foreigners, and you can pay by tapping a foreign bank card directly at the fare gates.
What's the best way to get from the airport to the city center?
Take Metro Line 11 from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport to downtown Futian or Nanshan in about 30–40 minutes—it's clean, frequent, and announced in both Mandarin and English.
Is the Sea World arts stop worth it, and is the evening fountain show guaranteed?
The arts centre rewards a relaxed hour: Pritzker-winner Fumihiko Maki's design, free public galleries and rooftop sea views, with ticketed special exhibitions optional. The evening fountain at the plaza runs most nights, usually around 7pm and hourly after, with extras on Fridays and Saturdays, but rain or wind can pause it. Your guide confirms the day's schedule locally.
When should we visit Shenzhen Bay Park, and what will we actually see?
Late afternoon is the classic window: sunset over Shenzhen Bay Bridge with Hong Kong's hills across the water. From November to March, thousands of migratory birds, including black-faced spoonbills, feed on the mudflats, best seen at low tide and quietest on weekday mornings. The park is free and flat, ideal for strolling; shared bikes are banned on weekends from 9am to 6pm, so plan accordingly.
