Arrive in Shangrao, Airport Pick-up & Transfer to Wangxian Valley – Night View Exploration

  • 4+ star hotels

Your journey begins the moment you step off the plane in Shangrao. Your private driver will be waiting to whisk you straight to Wangxian Valley (Wangxiangu) , a hidden gem tucked deep within the Sanqing Mountains of Jiangxi Province. Once a long-abandoned granite quarry, this valley has been reborn into one of China's most magical nightscapes. As dusk falls, you'll watch the valley transform: warm golden lights flicker on along the sheer cliff faces, illuminating a maze of wooden walkways, ancient-style rammed-earth houses, and a rushing waterfall that seems to hang in mid-air. The sight is so surreal that travelers call it “a real-life fairy tale world”.

Take a leisurely stroll along the cliffside paths. The air is cool and fragrant with pine, and the only sounds are the splash of the waterfall and the distant laughter of other visitors. For an unforgettable introduction to Chinese street food, wander into Baiwei Street (Hundred Flavors Street) , where vendors are frying, grilling, and steaming up local specialties. Grab a Wangxian “Silly” Winter Melon Tea – a sweet, refreshing drink that locals say will make you smile – or bite into a crispy Oil Tiao with Glutinous Rice Cake (Youtiao Bao Moci) , a warm, sticky-sweet roll that's pure comfort food. End your night by releasing a glowing floating lantern onto the valley's stream, watching your wish drift away under the star-speckled sky.

Full Day Exploring Wangxian Valley – All Scenic Spots & Local Food Tasting

  • 4+ star hotels

Wake up to birdsong and mistshrouded cliffs. After a hearty breakfast, dive into a full day of discovery. Start at White Crane Cliff (Baihe Ya) , the highest viewpoint in the valley. From here you can see the entire canyon spread out below you – emerald green forests, tumbling waterfalls, and the distinctive rammedearth houses clinging to vertical rock faces. Walk across the Moon Embracing Bridge (Lan Yue Qiao) , a graceful arch that offers pictureperfect views of the mountains and the winding stream.

For a taste of local life, stop by the “One Immortal Fruit” (Yi Ke Shen Xian Guo) shop in Workshop Street, where a cheerful owner steams Wuyan Guo, a sweetsour wild fruit unique to Jiangxi's deep mountains. Later, treat yourself to a Wangxian Roasted Chicken Leg – crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and so fragrant that the scent follows you down the street. In the evening, the valley comes alive again: try on a Hanfu (traditional Chinese costume) and join the bonfire party under the stars, where travelers and locals gather to dance, laugh, and share stories.

Huangshan & West Sea Grand Canyon – Hiking Through a Dreamscape

  • 4+ star hotels
  • Breakfast Included

Today you conquer Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) , one of China's most revered natural wonders. After a scenic drive from Shangrao, you'll ascend the mountain via cable car to save energy for what lies ahead. Your main destination: the West Sea Grand Canyon, a deep, narrow gorge often called the “Dream Scenic Area” for its otherworldly beauty. From Dispelling Cloud Pavilion (Paiyun Ting) , follow the trail into the canyon's “Ring One” and “Ring Two” – a series of dizzying cliffedge paths that wind past jagged granite peaks, ancient pines, and sheer drops into the mist below. The hike is challenging but immensely rewarding; every turn reveals a new vista that looks like a classical Chinese painting come to life.

Halfway down, you'll reach the canyon floor and board the West Sea Sightseeing Funicular – a glasswalled cable car that climbs at a thrilling 70degree angle, giving you a jawdropping view of the canyon walls rushing past. The ride takes only a few minutes but feels like flying through a fantasy landscape. After emerging at the top, you can hike to Bright Summit (Guangming Ding) , the highest point in Huangshan, where on clear days you can see a sea of clouds rolling beneath you. Take a deep breath – you've earned this moment.

Hongcun Village – Exploring the Masterpiece of Ancient Chinese Village Design

  • 4+ star hotels
  • Breakfast Included

Descend from the mountains and step into a different world: Hongcun Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often hailed as “the village in a Chinese painting”. Unlike the raw nature of Huangshan, Hongcun is a masterpiece of human design. Its oxshaped layout – with a central “belly” (Moon Pond / Yue Zhao) and a “stomach” (South Lake / Nan Hu) connected by a clever system of waterways – was conceived by ancient Feng Shui masters to bring harmony and prosperity. Walk along the stone pathways that follow the stream, cross the elegant South Lake Bridge, and watch as whitewalled, blacktiled houses reflect perfectly in the still water.

Duck into Chengzhi Hall, the largest private residence in the village, and marvel at its carved wooden beams – scenes of “100 Boys Celebrating Lantern Festival” and “Fishermen Farming” are so detailed that they seem to move in the light. For lunch, hunt down the famous Hongcun Crispy Biscuit (Hongcun Shaobing) , a tiny, flaky pastry filled with preserved vegetables and a hint of chili. And don't leave without trying Mao Doufu – a local specialty of fermented tofu grilled until golden, with a creamy, almost cheeselike texture that surprises firsttimers. In the afternoon, simply get lost in the narrow alleys; every corner offers a new discovery: an elderly woman handrolling tea leaves, a wooden door carved with hidden symbols, a courtyard where time seems to have stopped.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
