First, you will visit the The Lingering Garden(Liu Yuan), one of the Four Great Gardens of China, which demonstrates a compact layout and a delicate decorative art.

Afterwards, take a stroll to Shantang Ancient Street which is a famous historical and cultural street in China. It was once one of the most developed neighborhoods for commerce and culture in China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a journey to explore Suzhou's Tiger Hill, which is a famous scenic spot with a long history of more than 2500 years. As Su Shi, a famous poet of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), said, "to visit Suzhou and not see Tiger Hill would lead to a lifetime of regret" .

The most prestigious attraction in Tiger Hill is the Yunyansi Pagoda, a seven-story pagoda that has stood for 1,000 years and has a leaning posture comparable to the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. In addition, there is also a Sword Pond, which is rumored to be the place where the King of Wu buried his treasured sword 2,500 years ago.

Afterwards, you will visit the Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory to witness the miraculous transformation of silk from silkworm to silk products.

Q & A

How physically demanding is this 3-day itinerary? Is it suitable for older parents or children?
The pace is gentle. West Lake involves a relaxing boat ride and flat walking. Lingyin Temple has some steps but is manageable. Lingering Garden and Tiger Hill have paved paths. Yuyuan Garden and the Bund are easy. We can slow the pace, shorten walks, and add rest stops for families. Most guests of all ages enjoy this route.
What is the weather like in Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Shanghai in this season? What should we pack?
The three cities share similar weather—mild in spring and autumn, hot and humid in summer, chilly in winter. Comfortable walking shoes are essential year-round, and a foldable umbrella is wise. We'll send a specific forecast and packing list one week before your trip.
Is the Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory a shopping stop? Will there be pressure to buy?
It's a cultural visit to see the silk-making process from silkworm to fabric. You may purchase items if you wish, but there is absolutely no pressure. If you'd rather skip it and spend more time in the gardens, just tell your guide.
Is the tea picking experience at Meijiawu included? Can we just visit the village without picking tea?
The visit to Meijiawu Tea Village is included. Tea picking and tasting is an optional hands-on activity with a small local fee. If you prefer, you can simply stroll through the tea fields and enjoy a free cup of Longjing tea at a local teahouse. Your guide will help you decide.
Will an English-speaking guide be with us for all three days?
Yes, a professional English-speaking guide will accompany you from Day 1 pickup to Day 3 drop-off, handling tickets, sharing insights, and bridging communication with local staff. The driver speaks Chinese; your guide handles everything.
What if we want to visit a different observation deck in Shanghai instead of SWFC? Can we swap it?
Absolutely. If you'd prefer the Shanghai Tower or Jin Mao Tower observation deck, we can swap it. Just let us know when booking or tell your guide, and we'll adjust the tickets accordingly.
