Discover Shanghai: Tours Within and Around Shanghai 2026/2027

Shanghai, China’s global financial hub, is a dynamic metropolis where Eastern traditions meet Western influences, creating a unique blend of history, modernity, and cosmopolitan flair. As one of the world’s most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities, it offers a captivating mix of cutting-edge skyscrapers, historic landmarks, and vibrant cultural experiences.
Historical Landmarks: Shanghai’s skyline and streets tell stories of its storied past. The Bund, a UNESCO-recognized waterfront promenade, showcases 52 colonial-era buildings that once housed foreign banks and trading houses. Explore the Yuyuan Garden, a 16th-century Ming Dynasty oasis of pavilions, ponds, and traditional architecture. Wander through Xintiandi, a revitalized neighborhood where restored 1920s Shikumen (stone-gate) houses now house chic boutiques and cafes.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. How safe is Shanghai at night for walking around alone?
How safe is Shanghai at night for walking around alone? I want to do the Bund after dark but staying a bit further out.

Shanghai is one of the safest large cities in the world for nighttime exploring. The Bund, Nanjing Road, and former French Concession areas are well-lit and busy until late. Metro stops running around 10:30pm, so have Didi on your phone for the ride back.
Answered by Stefan Vogel | May 06,2026 09:57
Extrem sicher.

Answered by intotravelchina | April 29,2026 16:33
Our guides are happy to point you to authentic local markets or family-run workshops where they shop themselves. The difference is we don’t take commissions, so you won’t be steered toward overpriced souvenir halls. Just tell your guide you want a real crafts shop or a specific local snack to bring home, and they’ll make it happen.

I’m transiting in Shanghai for about 10 hours before a late flight to London. Can I realistically leave the airport and see the Bund and Yu Garden, or is that cutting it too fine?
Answered by intotravelchina | April 28,2026 09:59
Absolutely doable. The Maglev gets you downtown in about 20 minutes. You can easily cover Yu Garden, a stroll along Nanjing Road, and the Bund with time for a meal. We frequently arrange layover private transfers for clients who want a worry-free taste of Shanghai before heading to the airport.
Answered by Sofia Pereira | April 30,2026 13:21
Fiz exatamente isso. Visto de trânsito de 144 horas resolve. Desci no Bund, tirei foto, comi dumpling na rua e voltei pro trem. Sem stress.
