Must-see! Unveiling the Golden Season for Traveling in Guangzhou

When planning a trip to Guangzhou, knowing the best month to visit Guangzhou can greatly enhance your travel experience. The period from October to December is truly the golden season, with the temperature ranging between 15°C and 28°C. It is mild and dry, making it extremely suitable for exploring the numerous attractions of this city.

Meanwhile, during this time, there are continuous year-end promotion activities in major commercial areas of Guangzhou. Coincidentally, characteristic autumn and winter delicacies such as hot pot and clay pot rice with cured meat are newly available. Whether you are a tourist who is passionate about shopping or one who loves delicious food, you can achieve ultimate satisfaction.

1. Itinerary planning:

Day 1: Visit Yuexiu Park

Kick off your Guangzhou journey at Yuexiu Park, one of the most worthwhile places to visit in Guangzhou. When you step into the park, it's just like walking into a picture scroll that combines history and nature. The Five Rams statue, as an iconic symbol of Guangzhou, showcases the cultural heritage of this city. While strolling in the park, you can also admire the beautiful scenery where pavilions, towers and mountains are in harmony with each other. It is an excellent place to experience Lingnan culture and take wonderful photos.

Day 2: Explore Shamian Island

On the second day, head to Shamian Island. There are numerous well-preserved European-style buildings here, full of exotic charm. Walking on the quaint streets, you will feel as if you have traveled through time. You can enter a characteristic café to take a break, or visit various old foreign firms and consulate sites to immerse yourself in the unique historical charm of Guangzhou.

Day 3: Check out The Canton Tower

On the third day, you must check out the Canton Tower. This landmark building, known as the "Slim Waist", has a unique shape. Take the sightseeing elevator directly to the top of the tower, and you can overlook the panoramic view of Guangzhou in all 360 degrees. The prosperity and beauty on both sides of the Pearl River will be fully in your sight. When night falls, the colorful light show blooms on the tower body, lighting up the city's night sky. It is a paradise for photography enthusiasts.

2. Travel Tips

  • Transportation: The subway network in Guangzhou is well-developed and covers almost all the scenic spots. Download the "Guangzhou Metro(广州地铁)" APP, and it will be very convenient for you to buy tickets and check the routes. Some scenic spots are close to each other, and it is also a good way to tour around by riding a shared bicycle through the streets and alleys.

  • Food Recommendations: When you come to Guangzhou, you must taste the morning tea. Dim sum such as shrimp dumplings, siu mai, and barbecued pork buns are all classics. In addition, characteristic snacks like rice noodles rolls, wonton noodles, and clay pot rice are all over the streets. Don't miss food streets such as Xihua Road and Wenming Road.

  • Shopping Guide: If you like trendy fashion items, you can go to TaiKoo Hui and Grandview Mall. If you want to find cost-effective clothing, the Shisanhang and Baima Clothing Wholesale Markets are worth a visit. If you want to buy special souvenirs, Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street and Yongqingfang are good choices.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
