1.  First Bite of Hangzhou Cuisine: From Tradition to Innovation

My Hangzhou Food adventure began with a classic dish:West Lake Fish in Vinegar Gravy. Served at the renowned Quyuan Restaurant, this dish features tender fish fillets cooked in a sweet and sour sauce, perfectly capturing the essence of Hangzhou cuisine. I also indulged in Dongpo pork, a braised pork belly dish that's both rich and flavorful. For a modern twist, I tried Longjing Shrimp, fresh shrimp cooked with Longjing tea leaves, offering a unique blend of flavors.

2.  Culinary Exploration by West Lake: Scenery in Flavor, Flavor in Scenery

No trip to Hangzhou is complete without a visit to the West Lake. While enjoying the stunning views, I made sure to stop by Gu Yu Shan Fang, a restaurant nestled among the hills. Here, I savored Longjing Tea-Smoked Duck, a dish that combines the smoky aroma of tea with the tenderness of duck meat. It was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. I also explored the Hefang Street, a bustling pedestrian street lined with food stalls. Here, I tried Scallion Pancake, a crispy pancake filled with scallions, and Dingsheng Cake, a sweet rice cake with a rich history.

3.  Teahouses and Snack Streets: Experiencing Authentic Hangzhou Life

To truly experience Hangzhou, one must visit its teahouses. I spent an afternoon at Qing Teng Teahouse, sipping on fragrant Longjing Tea while enjoying the serene atmosphere. For a more casual experience, I headed to the Victory Riverfood Restaurant, where I tried Xiaolongbao (Soup Dumplings) and Wonton Soup. These dishes, simple yet delicious, showcased the everyday flavors of Hangzhou.

4.  WeChat Facilitates Seamless Travel: From Navigation to Payment

Navigating Hangzhou was a breeze thanks to WeChat. I used the app to book tickets for attractions, find the best restaurants, and even pay for my meals. WeChat's mini-programs were especially helpful, providing real-time updates and recommendations. For example, I used the "Hangzhou Tourism" mini-program to plan my itinerary and discover hidden gems like the Hangzhou Botanical Garden and the Lingyin Temple.

5.  Hangzhou: A Dual Sensory Delight for Taste Buds and Soul

My trip to Hangzhou was not just about the food; it was about the entire experience. From the serene beauty of the West Lake to the vibrant energy of the city's streets, Hangzhou captivated me. And the food, oh the food! It was a symphony of flavors, a testament to Hangzhou's rich culinary heritage. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a memorable travel experience, Hangzhou is a destination that should be at the top of your list.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
