Historical Overview
The park’s foundations date to the 1950s, when archaeologists uncovered Zhou Dynasty city walls and artifacts. In 1982, it was expanded into a public park, blending historical restoration with green spaces. Key developments include the 2000 addition of a panda enclosure—Luoyang’s first—and the 2015 opening of a cultural museum showcasing Zhou-era bronze ware. The park remains a symbol of Luoyang’s 3,000-year history as a dynastic capital.
