9:00 AM –Qinghui Garden Museum (清晖园博物馆)
9:00 AM –Qinghui Garden Museum (清晖园博物馆)
our first stop is Qinghui Garden, one of the four most famous classical gardens in Guangdong province. Built during the Ming Dynasty (around 1607) and expanded in the Qing Dynasty, this garden was originally the private residence of a top imperial scholar. Today it also serves as a museum, displaying ancient furniture, calligraphy, and porcelain inside its historic pavilions.

10:30 AM – Foshan Huagai Road Culture Street
10:30 AM – Foshan Huagai Road Culture Street
Next, you will drive approximately 30 minutes to Huagai Road in central Foshan city. This pedestrian street is a beautifully preserved piece of old Foshan. The architecture is a mix of late Qing dynasty arcade buildings and early 20th-century shop-houses with European-style balconies. Unlike touristy fake streets, this is a real local shopping and walking area where Foshan residents go to buy tea, traditional snacks, and daily goods.

12:30 PM – Jin Gong Men (金拱门)
This might sound unusual, but hear us out. “Jin Gong Men” literally means “Golden Arch” – and it is the official Chinese name for McDonald’s in mainland China since 2017. Why include a McDonald‘s on a cultural tour? Because Shunde people, famous for being picky eaters, have actually made this local McDonald’s a destination. Some outlets here serve limited-edition items you cannot find anywhere else, such as spicy chicken wings with Shunde black bean sauce or seasonal taro pies.

1:30 PM – Shunde Ronggui Fisherman‘s Wharf
1:30 PM – Shunde Ronggui Fisherman‘s Wharf
After lunch, you will drive 40 minutes south to Ronggui, a historic fishing town within Shunde district. The Fisherman’s Wharf is a revitalized industrial waterfront area. Not long ago, this was a working pier for grain storage and sugar refineries. Today, it has been transformed into a charming promenade of colorful warehouses, art murals, old fishing boats, and relaxed cafes.

Shunde Unfiltered – Gardens, Alleys, and a Wharf with Grit

This day trip layers Ming‑era scholar gardens, a working local shopping street, an unexpectedly fun McDonald’s stop (with regional menu twists), and a former grain pier turned art promenade. You sip coffee by rusty bollards, watch elders play chess, and taste Shunde’s famous milk pudding—all without fake “culture zones.” It’s relaxed, real, and multi‑sensory. Ideal for curious foodies, casual photographers, and travelers who enjoy urban evolution stories over crowded temples. You come away with textures, not clichés.

Scholar's Garden Photo Hunt
Learn to frame moon gates, Taihu rocks, and koi ponds through ancient “borrowed‑scenery” techniques – your guide reveals the best hidden angles.

Golden Arch Local Flavor Test
Order at a self-service kiosk in Chinese and try McDonald's regional items like the spicy McWings or taro pie – then taste why locals actually crave them.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
