Pearl River Cruise, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall & Yongqing Fang

Guangzhou's charm is in the layers — a quiet courtyard, a carved ridge, an opera voice drifting over water. Give each stop a little more time than you think it needs, and the old town starts telling its own stories. This tour is built for exactly that kind of day.

Begin at Haixinsha, Where the Games Opened

Haixinsha hosted the 2010 Asian Games opening, the first held outside a stadium. From its promenade, the Canton Tower rises across the water — an easy first skyline shot.

Haixinsha

Float the Pearl River Past the Tower

A daytime cruise takes the tour onto the water. Bridges, towers, and riverfront parks drift by as the Canton Tower follows along the bank — calm, quick, a new angle on the city.

The Pearl River Cruise

Step Inside the 1894 Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

Built by 72 Chen families for sons preparing for imperial exams, it is now a gallery of Lingnan craft. Stone, wood, and brick carvings cover every beam with astonishing patience.

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

Hear Cantonese Opera, Then Wander Yongqing Fang

In Yongqing Fang's garden theater, live Cantonese opera brings old music back to life. Arcaded lanes, Xiguan houses, and cafés open around you — a one-way boat ride closes the loop.

Cantonese opera

A note on honesty: the guide does not join you on the Pearl River cruise or the Yongqing Fang boat ride, so those two are solo water moments. The Cantonese Opera Museum closes on Mondays and the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall on Tuesdays, so book the other five days of the week. Lunch is at your own expense, and the whole day runs from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
