Beijing’s Imperial Icons: A Day Through Dynasties

This 8-hour tour brings together Beijing‘s defining imperial sites: the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace. It suits travelers with limited time who want a well-paced overview without sacrificing depth. Hotel pickup, lunch, and an English-speaking guide are included. The Pearl Factory stop offers a hands-on look at local craftsmanship, though it is not a hard-sell stop.
  • Forbidden City – Walk through 600 years of imperial history – Explore the world‘s largest palace complex, from the grand outer halls to the intimate inner court. Your guide brings the Ming and Qing dynasties to life with stories behind the architecture and the people who lived here.

  • Summer Palace – Stroll through the imperial garden retreat – Wander along the Long Corridor, take in Kunming Lake, and climb Longevity Hill for panoramic views. This UNESCO-listed royal garden shows how emperors escaped the Forbidden City’s formality.

This tour starts at Tian'anmen Square and China's more recent history influenced by Chairman Mao and the rise of communism. From there it's on to the Forbidden City, originally commissioned by Emperor Yong Le in the Ming Dynasty. It has been the seat of power for centuries and has seen countless battles and reconstruction, and the architecture seen today dates from the 1700s. The Forbidden City is also known as the Imperial Palace Museum, with all the art and splendor available for you to see. After a delicious meal, it's on to the Temple of Heaven. Temple of Heaven is Chinas largest temple and altar complex, an extraordinary example of religious architecture dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Your final destination has been the retreat of emperors for 800 years, the Summer Palace. One of Beijing's finest parks surrounds the palace, and you explore the grounds, the temples and the world's longest art gallery. We will break up your busy day with scenic bus rides plus an unbeatable shopping experience at the Pearl factory.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
