1. Jianshe Road Snack Street: A "Late Night Cafeteria" for Carbon Water Carnival

Address: No. 14 Jianshe Lane, Chenghua District, Chengdu City

Business hours: 18:00-22:00 (some stalls remain open until early morning)

Must eat list

Gao Jie baked brain flowers with tin foil: brain flowers dance with pickled radish and pickled peppers, tender and smooth like silk, spicy with freshness.

Zhou signed Guoba potatoes: The outer layer is fried until golden and crispy, while the inner layer is soft and tender. The sweet, sour, and spicy flavors hit the soul.

Roasted matchless dried tofu with sweet potato skin: the sweet potato skin is wrapped with sour radish, broken ear roots, and a bite of sour and crisp fried milk, which is the soul of Sichuan Chongqing snacks.

Xu Liang roasted pig trotters: Roasted pig trotters until fragrant and oily, sprinkle a handful of chili noodles, and fry collagen and spicy flavor in the mouth.

Atmosphere Experience

Queuing strategy: arrive before 6pm and avoid the "crowded" mode; It is recommended to queue up at internet celebrity booths (such as Zhoubiao) during off peak hours.

Hidden gameplay: After tasting snacks, turn into the back street of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and enjoy a bowl of chilled fermented rice noodle soup, a spicy elixir!

2. Yulin Road Old Hot Pot: The "Spicy Jianghu" in the Alley

Transportation: Exit B at Nijiaqiao Station on Metro Line 1 and walk for 15 minutes to Yulin South Road.

Recommended store:

Chongqing Lianglukou Old Hot Pot (Yulin Branch): Handmade stir fried pot base, the more it is cooked, the more fragrant it becomes. Cold pot duck blood is tender and smooth like morning dew.

Lao Matou Hot Pot (Yulin Branch): The butter red pot is rich and mellow, freshly cut and hung with dragon soup for 8 seconds to eat, and the meat aroma is overflowing.

As in Shu Mao Du Lao Hot Pot (Yulin Store): Crispy Mao Du is cooked in a seven up and eight down style, paired with chilled Wei Yi soy milk, making it spicy and refreshing.

Order Tips

Spicy degree selection: It is recommended for out of town tourists to start with "mild spiciness", while locals can directly challenge "medium spiciness".

Featured dishes: Roasted chicken feet (marinated until soft and sticky, bone breaking in one sip), bamboo mushroom shrimp noodles (crispy and tender with dual flavors), hot pot noodles (soaked in soup, spicy to the point of stomping feet).

From the hustle and bustle of the snack street on Jianshe Road to the spicy world of the old hotpot on Yulin Road, the distance between them is not only a few kilometers, but also a "time and space travel" of taste buds. Suggested route:

6pm: Arrive at Jianshe Road Snack Street, stroll and eat while experiencing the joy of carbohydrates.

8 pm: Take a taxi to Yulin Road, choose an old hotpot restaurant, and enjoy cooking tripe and duck intestines while listening to the dragon gate formation at the next table.

Midnight Easter eggs: After hot pot, sneak to Yulin Night Market and enjoy a sweet and sour fruit or egg baked cake to give your stomach a gentle ending.

Kuixinglou Street: where art and cuisine coexist, it's a must try for spicy skewers and raking chicken feet with two wings.

Manjusri Monastery: After burning incense and praying for blessings, I also had a bowl of Dongzikou Zhang Lao Er liangfen, which is a perfect combination of Sweet Water and liangfen.

Haijiao City: A hidden gathering place for "fly restaurants", where Li Ji's rose rice cake ice powder paired with strange flavored noodles unlocks authentic Chengdu flavors.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
