Unlock Xi'an's Roaming Diary

From the glamour of the Tang Dynasty with flowing clothes to the taste of the city with dense fireworks, from the fingertips of the millennium Intangible Cultural Heritage to the soul shaking of Qin Opera drum music, Xi'an has its unique way to turn the bright civilization in the long history into a tangible and fresh experience.

Day1-2: Hanfu Tour Three Stations

In the early morning, rent a chest length gown at the 'Tang Dynasty Night City' and capture the moment of time travel in the sculpture group of Zhenguan Square. At noon, we moved to the "Twelve Hours of Chang'an", learned to make Dim Sum in the Tang Dynasty at the Hu Cake Shop, watched Hu Xuan dance in the wine shop, and climbed on the Yongning Gate of the "Xi'an City Wall" at nightfall to see the Ancient City wall at the beginning of the lights and the modern neon. I highly recommend cycling on the city wall to experience the historical echoes flowing through the cracks of millennium old bricks.

Day3-4: Journey of Craftsmanship Inheritance

Learn the Paper Cuttings technique with the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Yongxing Square, and use red paper to cut out the auspicious "bun doll"; Walk into the "Yisuashe Cultural Street", watch the actors of Qin Opera Opera making faces on the spot, and try to throw a piece of water sleeve on the old stage; The most shocking experience was undoubtedly the guqin carving at the Chang'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Village, where I personally polished a piece of paulownia wood and listened to the ninth generation descendant of the Xie family's guqin explain the guqin making philosophy of "nine virtues and four fragrances".

Day5-6: Chang'an on the tip of the tongue

At six o'clock in the morning, the "Beiyuanmen Huifang" has begun to smell of beef and mutton steamed buns. When breaking steamed buns, I heard the old shopkeeper talk about how to eat "thousands of turns"; In the afternoon, I tasted the "Chang'an Eight Scenic Banquet" at the "Xi'an Restaurant Shaanxi Cuisine Museum" and learned how to make gourd chicken with the chef; In the twilight, lanterns light up at Yongxingfang. Take a sip of Zichang pancake made with intangible cultural heritage techniques, and then have a cup of freshly brewed Fuzhuan tea from Fucha Town. Watch the "golden flowers" shimmer on the surface of the tea soup.

Day7: Cold Kiln Site Park

Listen to the legend of Wang Baochuan and Xue Pinggui in front of the relief wall of "Amazing Love", and personally make the "Tongxin Knot" to tie on the wishing tree of Liulin Temple. The 'Tang style Wedding Exhibition' every Saturday evening is not to be missed, where the newlyweds dress up and perform three books and six rituals, as if transported back to the prosperous Tang Dynasty scene of 'Da Ming Palace Poetry'.

Day8: Guanzhong Folk Museum

Visit the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Living Hall" in the relocated Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient residential complex, learn the "La Po Tune" of Huayin Laoqiang from an old artist, experience movable type printing, and watch a shadow puppetry play "Flame Pony" in front of the ancient theater.

The true cultural experience is not just a fleeting visit to scenic spots, but every touch that allows history to shine into reality. The so-called millennium inheritance is nothing but countless encounters and resonances at this moment.
