I booked this on a whim for my last free day in Guangzhou. The karting was the reason I picked the full package and it held up - 3.68 km downhill, nine bends, helmet and a short briefing before you go. Not frightening, just fun. The cliff rail bike in the morning was arguably better though. You're up in the canopy over the water and you decide how fast you want to move. Lunch was at a local place the driver chose, Qingyuan steamed chicken, paid separately and worth it. One practical note: the giant Buddha hand photo is a paid thing on site, 10-20 RMB. Didn't bother me at all, but good to know before you get there.
Went for the salted duck, stayed for the museum

I mostly booked this one for the food, and the food delivered. Ke Xiang was the part I would go back to — salted duck, some kind of fried bun I still can't name properly, and plenty of noise around it. Ninety minutes there was not enough for me, honestly. The rest of the day moved fast: the Presidential Palace was fine, the museum was impressive but I only managed a couple of halls before my feet started complaining, and by the time we reached Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum the steps felt like a punishment. The evening at the Confucius Temple was crowded, though the snacks there made up for it. Good day. Just bring better shoes than I did.
First Market alone was worth the flights

I came to Sanya mainly for the food and the sea, and the evening at First Market is what I'll remember. You walk past rows of tanks and pick your own fish. I had no idea what I was doing, so I pointed at a lobster and a bag of clams and let one of the stalls nearby cook the lot. Steamed with garlic, a plate of greens, cold beer. Sitting on a plastic stool at nine at night with the whole place shouting around me beat every restaurant I ate in that week.
Days are hot, even in early March. I swam at Dadonghai in the afternoon, flat warm water, free entry. The sunset from Luhuitou was crowded but you get the whole lit-up bay and the little legend about the deer from the signs along the path.

My wife and I booked this mostly because of the chartered boat. We've done a bit of sea fishing off Cornwall and the Algarve and we wanted to see what the South China Sea would give us. The four-hour morning session was well run: captain, proper tackle, bait included, and he was patient with two people who kept tangling their lines. We came back with a decent box of small reef fish. Taking the catch to a restaurant by the dock and having half of it steamed and the rest in a light soup was probably the best meal of the week, and it cost less than we expected.
The evenings turned out to be the part I didn't anticipate enjoying. The promenade along the bay is a good place to walk once the heat drops, and on our second night we went up to Luhuitou Peninsula, free entry and open late, and looked down at the whole city lit up. There's a legend about a hunter and a deer that our driver explained to us in about six words of English and a lot of gestures. We got the gist.
Two honest notes. The midday heat is real and we learned to do nothing between one and four. And the seafood market is loud, hot and not for everyone, so don't feel obliged. If you try to see everything on this list you'll be rushing. We didn't, and it suited us.

I shoot film and picked this day mostly for the architecture. The light stayed flat and grey for most of it, which was disappointing — but the Music Platform made up for that. It was nearly empty when we got there, and the way the building sits against the trees is the shot I actually came home with. The museum is enormous and the lighting inside is not friendly to cameras, so I gave up and just looked instead. I skipped the souvenir shopping at the Confucius Temple and walked down toward the river; the boats lit up after dark are worth waiting around for. The day is long and the walking never really stops. Take the boat ride if you have energy left — I didn't.
Three minutes on Sun Bay Road is not enough

I planned this trip around photography and the coast mostly delivered. Niuwang Ridge on West Island was the surprise. You take the buggy about two kilometres and then walk out onto flat reef shelves at low tide, full of small crabs and shells, and the light on the water mid-afternoon is exactly the "glass sea" people talk about. I spent two hours there and could have stayed longer. Bring shoes you don't mind soaking.
Sun Bay Road is beautiful and also slightly maddening. Four kilometres of cliff road with ocean on one side the whole way, but stopping is limited to three minutes and that is genuinely enforced. I got maybe two frames I'm happy with. If you're serious about shooting it, ask your driver to plan out the pull-offs in advance instead of hoping.
The Dragon Bridge in the Yalong Bay forest park I did on the last morning. It's 168 metres of swaying suspension bridge above the canopy and the glass walkway nearby gives you the whole bay. Go early. By ten there were queues for the bridge and the light was already harsh.
A good trip if you accept you're working around crowds and rules rather than chasing empty landscapes.

Our family of five just returned from an incredible 10-day tour of China with IntoTravelChina, and we couldn't be happier with the experience! The pace was just right - busy enough to see everything important, but with adequate downtime. We appreciated the flexibility when we wanted to adjust things slightly, and the restaurant recommendations were always spot on.

As a solo traveler from Spain, I had an incredible 2-day Chengdu tour with IntoTravelChina. The highlights were definitely the mysterious Sanxingdui Ruins - those bronze masks were unbelievable! - and seeing the adorable pandas up close. Our guide was knowledgeable and made me feel completely comfortable exploring on my own too. The Jinli Ancient Street at night was magical with all the food stalls and traditional performances. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience Chengdu's culture and history!

The thoughtful sequencing of experiences – from Shanghai’s glittering Bund to Hangzhou’s poetic West Lake cruise (that 45-minute boat ride was pure serenity!) and Suzhou’s canal strolls – demonstrated masterful logistical planning. Fantastico! Our Chengdu family day was magical. My daughter adored the pandas at the Research Base – watching them play was unforgettable. The hotpot dinner was absolutely delicious, but a little apicy. Highlights included the vibrant Jinli Street and serene People's Park. A huge grazie to our excellent guide who not only shared fascinating insights at Wuhou Shrine but also took beautiful family photos for us, making the memories even more special.

This 3-day trip to Beijing was an unforgettable experience for our family. The tour was flawlessly organized—our 4-star hotels provided great comfort after full days of exploring, and transportation was always on time. Our guide stood out for his deep historical knowledge, explaining the significance of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven in a clear and engaging way. His passion for Chinese culture truly brought each site to life.
Highlights included visiting the Great Wall at Mutianyu and the Summer Palace—both offering breathtaking views. Riding a rickshaw through the hutongs and making dumplings were fun, hands-on activities our kids really enjoyed. Thanks to our guide’s tip, trying Peking Duck at Quanjude became a culinary highlight. Although the schedule was packed, the balance between cultural sites and downtime (like a relaxing foot massage) was just right. Without a doubt, it was a rich and well-organized cultural journey.

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic!
Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale.
For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

Beihai Park is like a hidden paradise right in the heart of Beijing! Our guide rented us a small boat, and we leisurely paddled around the lake, it was so relaxing! The park is filled with laid-back locals; some are singing, some are practicing Tai Chi, and I couldn't help but get swept up in this chill vibe. I really wish time could stand still at this moment so we could enjoy this peace and beauty forever!

Tianmen Mountain was seriously the biggest surprise of my trip in China! And that glass walkway? A bit scary, but the view over the valley was incredible. The Tianmen Cave is breathtaking, it's amazing what nature can do. If you love nature and a good challenge, you definitely don’t want to miss this place—Tianmen Mountain is totally worth a visit!

Oh my god! The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is an absolute wonderland! The highlight was definitely the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge – walking on that transparent floor with the deep canyon below was both terrifying and exhilarating! And the lush greenery everywhere made me feel like I’d entered a fairytale world. Every turn offered a new breathtaking view. This place truly showcases the incredible power and beauty of nature. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is simply a treasure gifted by nature! It is said that the prototype of "Hallelujah Mountain" of "Avatar" is here, and it is really shocking to see it with your own eyes. Huangguoshu Waterfall is a stunner! As I stood before it, the thundering roar and the sight of water gushing down left me in awe. The surrounding greenery added to the charm.
