The mist is real and natural, caused by warm lake water meeting cooler air. Dawn is the prime time, especially in spring and autumn. The Su Causeway and the area around the Three Pools are the classic spots. It usually burns off by mid-morning, so set an early alarm.

Es cien por ciento real. Fui a las seis de la mañana en octubre y no podía creerlo. Parecía un sueño. El agua echaba vaporcito y las montañas se veían flotando. A las nueve ya estaba todo despejado. Valió cada minuto de sueño perdido.
