Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, also known as Pagoda of Fogong Temple. This wooden pagoda has a history of nearly a thousand years.
It is the tallest and oldest surviving wooden tower building in China, and the only wooden structure pavilion tower in the world. With its unique architectural style and exquisite craftsmanship, the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is regarded as one of the "Three Wondrous Pagodas of the World", and is on a par with the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Pagoda of Fogong Temple has a height of 67.31 meters and a diameter of 30.27 meters at the base. From the appearance of the wooden tower has five layers, but in fact the tower has four dark layers, so there are actually nine layers. The whole wooden pagoda all with red pine wood construction, supplies red pine wood 3000 cubic meters, the total weight of about 7,400 tons. Wooden tower design is ingenious, the whole tower up and down did not use a nail, relying on wooden components mortise and tenon each other, showing the outstanding wisdom of the ancient craftsmen and superb skills.
