SiMian Mountain is in Jiangjin District, Chongqing, named for being surrounded by mountains. It's a national 5A scenic spot famous for its primeval forests, stunning waterfalls, Danxia landforms, and crystal-clear lakes. The forest coverage is as high as 95.41%, and the average summer temperature is only 22-25℃, making it a perfect summer getaway.
1. WangXiangtai Waterfall
At 158 meters high and 48 meters wide, it's the widest waterfall in China with the largest single drop, shaped like a natural heart, and known as the "Tian Xia Di Yi Xin(天下第一心)."
2. Daxiao Honghai
Composed of two high-altitude lakes, the water is clear, and it's often home to mandarin ducks and egrets, making it great for boating.
3. Tudi Rock
A Danxia landform wonder with steep red cliffs and cascading waterfalls, it's called "Ya Zhou Shen Yan(亚洲神岩)."
4. Aiqing Ladder
With over 6000 stone steps and a touching love story behind it, it's perfect for couples to take photos.
Simian Mountain combines natural wonders with cultural stories, ideal for hiking, photography, summer retreats, and family trips. You can explore it in 2-3 days. It’s suggested to combine it with the Dazu Rock Carvings (a World Cultural Heritage site) for a 5-day trip around western Chongqing.
