Thirteen dynasties, including the Western Zhou, Qin, Western Han, Xinmang, Eastern Han (some periods), Western Jin (some periods), Former Zhao, Former Qin, Later Qin, Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, and Tang, established their capitals or prefectures here, lasting about 1100 years. This is not only the center of ancient Chinese politics, economy, and culture, but also one of the four ancient capitals in the world.

1. Terra Cotta Warriors: Qin Shihuang's underground army

Terra Cotta Warriors is one of the landmark attractions in Xi'an, known as the "eighth wonder of the world". This is part of the the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. It shows The Terracotta Army thousands of years ago, which is huge and lifelike. Here, you can feel the magnificent spirit of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's unification of the six kingdoms.

Opening hours: 8:30-17:00

Ticket price: 120 yuan (off-season), 150 yuan (peak season)

Transportation: Take the You5 bus directly from Xi'an Railway Station, or choose the tourist shuttle bus.

2. Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Dacien Temple: Symbols of Buddhist Culture in the Tang Dynasty

the big wild goose pagoda is one of the iconic buildings in Xi'an, built during the Tang Dynasty by Master Xuanzang to preserve Buddhist scriptures brought back from India. Dacien Temple was a royal temple of the Tang Dynasty, witnessing the spread and development of Buddhist culture in China.

Opening hours: Da Ci'en Temple 8:00-17:00, Big Wild Goose Pagoda Climbing 8:00-22:00

Ticket prices: 50 yuan for Da Ci'en Temple, 30 yuan for climbing the Big Wild Goose Pagoda

Transportation: Take Metro Line 3 to Dayan Pagoda Station.

3. Shaanxi History Museum: A Miniature of Chinese History

The Shaanxi History Museum is one of the most important historical museums in China, with a large collection of precious cultural relics covering from prehistoric times to the Qing Dynasty. Here, you can see exquisite bronze, jade, pottery, and gold and silver artifacts, and experience the profoundness of Chinese civilization.

Opening hours: 9:00-17:00 (closed on Mondays)

Ticket price: Free (advance online reservation required)

Transportation: Take Metro Line 2 to Beidajie Station, transfer to Metro Line 1 to Yuxiangmen Station, and walk there.

4. Xi'an City Wall: A Model of Ancient Military Defense

The Xi'an City Wall is one of the largest and most well preserved Ancient City walls in China. You can choose to walk or ride a bicycle along the city walls to experience the magnificence and grandeur of the ancient city.

Opening hours: 8:00-22:00

Ticket price: 54 yuan

Transportation: Take Metro Line 2 to Yongningmen Station and walk there.

5. Huaqing Palace: Tang Dynasty Royal Hot Springs

Huaqing Palace is located at the foot of Mount Li and is a royal hot spring bath of the Tang Dynasty, witnessing the love story between Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei. Not only do we have hot springs here, but we also have rich historical relics and beautiful natural scenery.

Opening hours: 8:00-18:00

Ticket price: 120 yuan

Transportation: Take a bus or tourist shuttle to get there.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
