1. Century Park: A Tulip Sea in Pudong

Location: 1001 Jinxiu Road, Pudong

Shanghai’s largest park transforms into a tulip wonderland each March, with over 500,000 blooms blanketing the International Tulip Garden. Stroll through rainbow-striped beds of parrot tulips and fringed varieties, then picnic under cherry blossoms nearby. Pro tip: Visit at sunrise for soft light and fewer crowds. Many Shanghai group tours include early-bird access for photographers.

2. Gongqing Forest Park: Wildflower Meets Urban Oasis

Location: 2000 Jungong Road, Yangpu

Gongqing Forest Park’s Dutch Tulip Valley feels like a slice of the Netherlands. Over 200 tulip species—including rare black ‘Queen of Night’ blooms—line winding trails. Don’t miss the park’s Cherry Blossom Lane, where pink petals frame tulip beds. Pair your visit with a Shanghai food tour of nearby Wujiaochang’s scallion pancake stalls.

3. Zhabei Park: Hidden Gem with Retro Vibes

Location: 288 Gonghexin Road, Jing’an

This lesser-known park charms with tulip displays set against 1980s pavilions and lotus ponds. The Spring Tulip Festival (March 10–April 5) features heart-shaped arrangements and vintage photo ops. Local secret: The park’s teahouse serves jasmine tea (¥15) with tulip-shaped dumplings—a perfect post-bloom treat.

4. Shanghai Botanical Garden: Botanical Artistry

Location: 1111 Longwu Road, Xuhui (Free entry to tulip zones in March)

While the garden charges for general entry, its Tulip Plaza near Gate 1 is free in March. Marvel at hybrid tulips like ‘Ice Cream’ (double-petaled, pastel hues) and geometric floral mosaics. Combine with a tour from Shanghai to nearby Longhua Temple for cherry blossoms and tangyuan snacks.

5. Xuhui Riverside: Industrial Chic & Blooms

Location: Along Longteng Avenue, Xuhui

This revitalized waterfront pairs tulip beds with graffiti murals and repurposed factories. The West Bund Tulip Zone (near Cloud Pavilion) mixes classic red tulips with metallic sculptures. Rent a bike (¥5/hour) to explore, then refuel at Smartshanghai Market’s food trucks—a Shanghai food tour favorite for truffle fries and matcha lattes.

Blooming Itineraries for Every Traveler

Romantic Day: Start at Century Park, bike Xuhui Riverside, and end with a sunset huangpu river cruise (book via tours from Shanghai).

Family Fun: Hunt for tulip shapes at Zhabei Park, then join a Shanghai group tour to Yu Garden for kite flying.

Photo Focus: Gongqing Forest Park at dawn, then street food feasting in Yangpu.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
