1. Enchanted Christmas Village: A Snowy Fantasyland

Step into Bao Yan Paradise’s Enchanted Christmas Village, where cobblestone paths wind through life-sized gingerbread houses, twinkling fir trees, and snow machines dusting the air with “flurries.” Kids can meet Santa in his Nordic-style cabin, complete with a mailbox for wish lists. Don’t miss the Glowing Candy Cane Forest, a photogenic maze of neon-lit stripes. Many Shanghai trip packages include VIP passes for skip-the-line Santa meetups.

2. Polar Express Train Ride: Choo-Choo Cheer

All aboard the Polar Express, a mini train that chugs through a winter landscape of animatronic penguins, dancing elves, and a “North Pole” station with hot cocoa stalls. The 15-minute ride ends with a surprise gift for each child. Tip: Book tickets via a Shanghai city tour to secure sunset slots when the park’s LED lights blaze brightest.

3. DIY Gingerbread Workshops: Sweet Creativity

At Mrs. Claus’ Bakery, families can join hands-on gingerbread house decorating sessions. Local chefs provide pre-built cookie cottages, icing, and candy toppings, while carolers serenade the room. Reserve spots early through Shanghai vacation planners—these workshops sell out fast!

4. Ice Skating Rink: Glide Under the Stars

Bao Yan Paradise’s outdoor Ice Skating Rink offers a synthetic ice surface (no heavy jackets needed!) surrounded by towering nutcracker statues. Rent penguin-shaped balance aids for toddlers or join a family ice disco night. Pro tip: Pair skating with a visit to the Marshmallow Fire Pit nearby for gooey treats.

5. Magical Parade & Light Show

The park’s Twilight Spectacular starts at 6 PM daily: floats adorned with fairy-tale characters, acrobatic reindeer dancers, and a finale where the castle facade becomes a canvas for a 3D projection mapping show. For prime views, book a Shanghai trip package with reserved seating.

6. Festive Feast: Holiday Bites for Picky Eaters

Warm up with themed eats: Rudolph’s Hot Chocolate Bar (topped with candy canes), Snowman Pizza (shaped like Frosty’s face), and Elf Waffles drizzled with red-and-green syrup. Parents can sneak spiced cider at the Mistletoe Lounge, a pop-up bar draped in fairy lights.

7. Bao Yan After Dark: Parent-Friendly Perks

After kids tire out, the park shifts gears with Yuletide Nights—live jazz bands, mulled wine stations, and parent-only craft cocktail classes at the Gingerbread Speakeasy. Some Shanghai city tour operators offer “parents’ night out” packages with babysitting services onsite.

Plan Your Visit

Bao Yan Paradise operates from December 1–January 3. Buy tickets early via Shanghai tours platforms for discounts. Combine your trip with other attractions like Yu Garden’s Lantern Festival or huangpu river cruises for a holistic Shanghai vacation.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
