You can start your journey by taking the tourist bus from Tianwa Village to Zhongtian Gate, and then trek up to Nantian Gate on foot. For instance, the Eighteen Bends, the steepest section of the mountain trails, comprise over 1,600 steps with a vertical drop of more than 400 meters, resembling a hanging ladder. Estimated Travel Time: One day. The bus ride to Zhongtian Gate takes approximately 30 minutes, and the trek from Zhongtian Gate to Nantian Gate takes about 3 to 4 hours. To conserve energy, you can choose to take the cable car down.

Ticket Prices: Mount Tai entrance fee is 115 yuan. Children under 1.4 meters in height are admitted free. The one-way ticket for the Tianwa Village tourist bus is 35 yuan, and the one-way ticket for the Zhongtian Gate cable car is 100 yuan (half-price for children).

Inside Taiqing Temple, ancient trees stand tall, including the thousand-year-old Dragon Head Elm in the Sanhuangdian Courtyard, with its thick trunk and dragon-like branches. Children can learn about common trees like plum and gingko here, as well as rare plants like the Laoshan Lily, understanding their growth habits and embarking on a journey of natural science. Furthermore, the seashore of Mount Lao boasts unique reefs shaped by years of wave erosion, providing a paradise for children to explore the mysteries of the ocean.

Estimated Travel Time: Half a day. Taking the sightseeing bus to tour the Taiqing Temple scenic area, including visiting ancient buildings and admiring plants, takes approximately 3 hours.

Ticket Prices: Mount Lao scenic area ticket (including the sightseeing bus) is 90 yuan. Children under 1.4 meters in height are admitted free. The Taiqing Temple ticket is 27 yuan (free for children).

Additionally, you can take your children to the seashore of Mount Lao to collect seashells and build sandcastles, letting them reap joy and knowledge while connecting with nature.

May Fourth Square: Experiencing History and the Vitality of the City Together

May Fourth Square is a great place for families to learn about history and feel the vibrancy of the city. Parents can tell their children about the history of the May Fourth Movement, imparting the importance of patriotism. The sunken plaza at the square is uniquely designed, with surrounding reliefs vividly depicting scenes from the May Fourth Movement, allowing children to intuitively understand that tumultuous period. The musical fountain is a source of joy for children, with water columns rising and falling to the rhythm of music, transforming into various shapes and illuminated by lights, creating a spectacular display.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
