Return from Jiuzhaigou Valley without looking at the water!

Wuhua Sea+Changhai+Pearl Beach, a mortal fairyland critical attack

"Mount Huangshan does not look at the mountain when coming back, and Jiuzhaigou does not look at the water when coming back." When the plane landed at Jiuhuang Airport, the fresh wind at an altitude of 3000 meters came with the breath of the snow mountain. Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, a "fairyland on earth" listed as a world natural heritage by UNESCO, weaves a suffocating "water color web" with pools of clear water, waterfalls and flying pearls.

1、 Five Flower Sea: The Paint Plate Overturned by God

Location: At the end of the upper reaches of the Kongque River in Rizegou

Suggested playtime: 1.5 hours

Color Strike

Lake water: Within the same body of water, goose yellow, dark green, deep blue, and navy blue intertwine, as if a palette overturned by God.

Cause: Sedimentation of calcareous deposits at the bottom of the lake, differences in the distribution of algae, and the overlapping colors of submerged plants form colorful blocks.

Best perspective: Overlooking from the Tiger Mouth Observation Deck, the Five Flower Sea is like a peacock with an open screen, and the colorful pool and snow capped mountains are framed together.

Hidden gameplay

Miracle of withered trees: Calcified withered trees at the bottom of the lake cluster like coral, and sunlight penetrates the water surface, reflecting the fantastic light and shadow of the "underwater forest".

The Secret Realm of Morning Mist: When the morning mist lingers, the reflection of the colorful forest by the lake enters the water, making it difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion, just like Monet's oil painting.

2、 Changhai: The "Sapphire" Lost in Snowy Mountains

Location: At the end of Chawa Gully

Suggested playtime: 1 hour

The beauty of tranquility

Lake water: The dark blue water surface is like a mirror, reflecting the snow capped peaks all year round, surrounded by primitive forests, and birds singing in the empty valley.

Legend has it that Tibetans refer to it as the "treasure gourd that cannot be fully loaded and leaked," which does not overflow during the rainy season and does not dry up during the dry season.

Season Limited

Spring: The ice and snow melt, and the lake water is like jade embedded between the snow capped mountains.

Winter: The lake freezes up to 60 centimeters thick, transforming into a natural ice skating rink surrounded by rime branches, like a fairy tale world.

3、 Pearl Beach: A Thousand Year Jumping 'Pearl Rain'

Location: Intersection of Rize Gou and Nanri Gou

Suggested playtime: 1 hour

Natural wonders

Calcium carbonate beach surface: Milky yellow calcified sediment forms a fan-shaped beach surface, with rapids pouring down and splashing up thousands of "pearls".

The filming location of Journey to the West: The classic scene of Tang Monk and his disciples leading horses through water was set at the Pearl Beach Waterfall.

Interactive experience

Barefoot stepping on the beach: The beach surface is covered with light yellow moss, which feels like a sponge. In summer, you can take off your shoes and play in the water (in winter, the water temperature is extremely low, so be cautious).

The waterfall roars: The Pearl Beach Waterfall is 21 meters high and 162 meters wide. The water is thunderous and the fog is filled. It is the most powerful waterfall in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area.

Bus: Chengdu Chadianzi Station → Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area Entrance (8 hours, the recommended nanny car can lie flat).

Self driving: Starting from Chengdu, take G247. The Wenchuan section is prone to landslides during the rainy season, so beginners should choose carefully.

Photography Tips:

Changhai: One armed elderly man framing by cypress, using polarizing mirrors to eliminate reflections on the water surface.

Pearl Beach: Take a photo on the left side of the waterfall's boardwalk to capture the dynamic of the 'Pearl Rain'.

Goukou: Tibetan hotpot, tsamba, buttered tea.

Norilang Central Station: Buffet (60 yuan/person), providing hot water and instant noodles.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
