After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the Flaming Mountain. It is a fiery peak that the monk Xuanzang must pass through in the classic Chinese novel《Journey to the West》.The mountain is barren and extremely hot in summer.

Then you will reach Tuyu, a migratory valley with many historical sites. The village of Mazar, the oldest surviving Uyghur village with more than 2,600 years of history. It used to be a Buddhist center as well before Islam. There are many Buddhist grottoes in the village, but the statues and murals have not survived.

Next, you will explore the splendid project of the Karez Well, which is a special type of irrigation system. The tunnel system provides water for local people to drink as well as to water their crops.

Your last stop is the famous ruins of Jiaoha, an ancient city located along the ancient Silk Road and now is known as the best-preserved earthen structure in the world.You can also walk to the central platform for a magnificent view of the entire park. As night falls, you will enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the ruins.

After visiting Turpan, you will take a 3.5-hour drive to Urumqi.

After breakfast, you will visit the Xinjiang Museum. This is China's most important museum on the theme of the Ancient Silk Road. The most unique collection here is the mummies. It has a collection of 10 almost intact mummies from more than 4,000 years ago, mostly found in the remains of the ancient kingdom of Loulan.

After leaving the museum, you will explore Heavenly Lake of Tianshan (or Tianchi lake in Chinese) In order to protect the natural environment, visitors' cars are only allowed up to the park entrance. Next you will take a park bus to the depths of the scenic area. It is said that the mythical event of the Peach Banquet organized by the Xiwanmu was held here. Surrounded by hills, green grass and flowers, it is known as the Pearl of Tianshan.

Recommended Activities

There are generally three ways to explore Tianchi. You can take a walk around the lake, take a boat tour, or ride the cable car to the top of the mountain. (Boat trips and cable cars will be charged extra.

If time permits, you can even enjoy all of these experiences.

After breakfast, you will spend 4 hours on the Urumqi to Bole train. 

Your first stop will be the famous Sayram Lake, which is known as "the last tear of the Atlantic Ocean" . Renowned for its crystal-clear, turquoise waters that reach a transparency of up to 12 meters, Sayram Lake is surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains, creating a breathtaking backdrop for visitors. 

Next, you will head to the Moon Bay. Moon Bay is named for its unique curved moon shape. 

Then, you will arrive at the Xihai Grassland. From June to September every year, the grassland is full of flowers and grasses, which is the best time to view and experience the grassland scenery. The Xihai Grassland is a natural high-quality pasture where local herdsmen would graze their cattle and sheep, showing a vivid picture of pastoral life.

Immediately after that, you will come to the popular S Bay Highway. This highway is famous for its unique S-shaped curve and magnificent scenery, attracting countless tourists to take photos.

Finally, you will come to the Guozigou Bridge. This bridge spans the deep valley and connects the mountains on both sides of the river, which is majestic and spectacular.

After the tour, you will proceed to Hori County Town for overnight stay.

• Ili Tianshan Flower Sea Scenic Spot--Tianma Bathing River Scenic Spot--Tekes County

In the morning, we were about to depart towards the Ili Tianshan Flower Sea Scenic Spot. More than 22,000 acres of lavender are planted in the Tianshan Flower Sea Scenic Spot in Ili. From June to October every year, when lavender is in full bloom, the whole scenic area seems to turn into a sea of purple.

As the center node of Kazakh nomadic culture, the scenic area is also equipped with Kazakh felt houses, equestrian performances, horse races and other activities, so you can experience the depth of the traditional customs of the nomadic family and the characteristics of the local conditions and people.

Afterward, we will go to the Tianma Bathing River Scenic Spot to enjoy a mind-blowing Tianma Bathing River Show. A group of majestic Ili horses rushed into the river, hooves running wildly. You can enjoy the spectacular scene of horses galloping in the river and feel the unique charm of horse culture.

The evening is free time. You can choose to participate in a variety of enriching activities according to your interest.

In the vast grassland, you can set up your tent and sit around the campfire with other travelers while eating barbecue and looking up at the starry sky.

Early in the morning, we will embark on the journey to Kerala grassland. Hundreds of high-quality pasture grasses grow in the Kerala Grassland, which is one of the few first-rate natural grasslands in the world. The grassland is full of cows and sheep, and in summer, colorful wildflowers and green grass intertwine to form a sea of flowers, which is breathtakingly beautiful.

After the visit, we will return to downtown Ili and choose a hotel with local characteristics to check in. The food here is not to be missed. Xinjiang's lamb kebabs, roasted whole sheep, and hand-scraped rice. It's a great place to experience local culture, taste specialty foods, and buy handicrafts.
