Here are our recommended activities for a day trip in Hong Kong:

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at a nearby coffee shop or restaurant and savor Hong Kong's specialties such as milk tea and pineapple buns

After Breakfast, you can head to the Peak, the highest peak in Hong Kong (552 meters above sea level). You can climb up to the observation deck and enjoy the magnificent skyline and serene harbor view of Hong Kong.

Afterwards, you can visit Repulse Bay, which is known as the Hawaii of the East. It has the most beautiful beaches, long coastline, soft sand, clear water and pleasant climate.

Next you can head to Lan Kwai Fong for dinner at a bar or restaurant to experience Hong Kong's nightlife vibe.

Today, you will head to Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station to take the Shinkansen to Guilin, which is about a 3-hour trip.

(Transfer tip: Trains from Hong Kong to Guilin usually depart in the morning. If this time does not match your itinerary, you can take the train to Guangzhou South Station or Shenzhen North Station and then transfer to high-speed train to Guilin. If you are interested, please let your travel consultant know and they will adjust your itinerary for you. There is also a daily flight from Hong Kong International Airport to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (flight time 1.5 hours), but tickets are usually tight and expensive).

Upon arrival at Guilin Railway Station, your local guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. 

The rest of the day is free for you to organize.

You can take a boat trip on the Two Rivers and Four Lakes, which is the preferred way for many tourists to visit the new Guilin City, and enjoy the amazing night scenery.

After breakfast, you will explore the beautiful scenery of Guilin. 

Starting from Mopan Mountain Pier, we will cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo Town. This 84-kilometer cruise is like an endless Chinese ink painting, with meandering rivers, green limestone karst mountains.( Tips: Simple local dishes are provided for lunch on board, or you can prepare your own snacks.)

After sailing for about four hours, we will arrive at Yangshuo town and check into your hotel. After a short rest, we will continue to explore the Yulong River. You can choose to ride a bicycle through the countryside, or take a bamboo raft on the river. (Note: According to the Yulong River Tourism Regulations. Children less than 1 meter tall and seniors over 70 years old will not be able to experience bamboo rafting, please be aware of this.)

In the evening, we will stroll through the old West Street, taste the local food and have a glass of wine.

Optional Activities

You can enjoy a wonderful evening show - Impression Liu Sanjie. This show, which uses the Li River as a stage, is directed by the famous director Zhang Yimou (the usual performance time is from 19:45 to 22:20).

Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin's landscape. This huge rocky mountain resembles a lifelike elephant drinking from the river. Within the embrace of the Elephant Trunk Hill, you will also find many historical relics such as exquisite stone carvings and serene Buddhist temples.

You will then drive about 7 kilometers to the next amazing attraction, the Reed Flute Cave. This is a majestic underground palace with breathtaking stalactites, stalagmites, stalagmite shields and stone waterfalls of all shapes and sizes.

As the sun sets, we will bid farewell to Guilin and head to the railway station for our high speed train to Guiyang.

After breakfast, you will go to Anshun (about 2.5 hours' drive) You will visit the Dou Po Tang Waterfall, which was once the filming location for the famous TV series Journey to the West, adapted from one of China's four literary classics.  It is also known as the "Roaring Falls" because of the thunderous sound it makes during floods.

Then, you will take a sightseeing bus to enjoy a close-up view of Tianxingqiao Scenic Spot, which gathers all the essence of karst landscapes and is known as a wonderland miniature landscape of karst ecology.You will walk through the cave and admire various shapes of karst stalagmites, columns, flowers, etc.

Afterwards, you will visit the Huangguoshu Falls. With a height of 77.8 meters and a width of 101 meters, Huangguoshu Waterfall is known for its majestic beauty and powerful flow. The waterfall cascades down with great force, creating a spectacular sight with misty sprays resembling snowflakes.
This magnificent and stunning sight is not only the largest waterfall in Asia, but also one of the most famous waterfalls in the world.

After the tour, your guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel in Anshun.

Note

As there is no food or restaurants in Huangguoshu Waterfalls Tourist Area, we recommend you to have lunch at the restaurant at the entrance of the tourist area or bring some food of your own.

After breakfast, you will drive about 1 hour to Loong Palace in Anshun City. It is known as "the panoramic display of the karst world"

You will visit Tenchi Lake, formed by the collapse of the top of a karst cave, which has been tested to have the lowest radiation dose rate in the world.

Next, you will enjoy the mighty Longmen Waterfall, which pours down from the 50-meter-high lake and is the largest karst cave waterfall in China.

You will then walk to the Kwan-yin cave to see how nature has created stalactites over 50 meters high in the form of Kwan-yin in this such a magnificent natural karst cave.

If you have enough time, you can continue your visit to the Rotating Pool. It's amazing as its water rotates clockwise around the clock without any wind action.

After the tour, you will go to Qingyan Ancient Town (about 1.5 hours drive). This ancient city with a history of over 600 years has preserved fine old houses, temples, walls and gates from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as an unexpected array of Buddhist, Taoist, Christian and Catholic religious buildings. You can savor the history and taste the food here.

Finally, you will go to Guiyang North Railway Station to catch a high speed train to Leshan.

After Breakfast, you will arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Leshan Giant Buddha. 

It is 71 meters high, with ears as long as 7 meters, the backs of its feet as wide as 8.5 meters, and even its little fingernails are higher than those of a normal person. This giant Buddha was built in 713 A.D., and is a symbol of the ancient people's prayers for peace and prosperity, and protects boatmen from the dangers of the rapids.

You can start from the hill next to the Giant Buddha and climb up to the head of the Buddha to see it up close, then walk down the stone steps to the foot of the Buddha to enjoy the full view of it.(Please note that you may have to queue if you visit the Big Buddha during peak hours.)

After visiting the Giant Buddha, you can drive for about 45 minutes to the largest temple at the foot of Mount Emei,the Baoguo Temple.

Optional Activities

You can enjoy an amazing 30-minute boat ride. The boat will take you to the front of the Giant Buddha to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view.

After breakfast you will visit Mount Emei. One of the few World Heritage Sites that is both a cultural and natural heritage. It is one of the four most famous Buddhist mountains in China and home to 5,000 species of plants and more than 2,300 species of wildlife. 

You will first arrive at Lei Dong Ping (2400 meters above sea level), you will walk along the stone steps for about 30 minutes to reach the cable car station and you will have the chance to see wild monkeys along the way.

Then take a cable car (about 5 minutes) to reach the Golden Peak (3,077 meters), which is the biggest highlight and essence of Mount Emei. It can be called the largest and highest place of worship of Chinese Buddhism in the world. 

On a clear day, you may even be able to see the snow-capped Mount Gongga (7,556 meters above sea level) and Asia's largest table mountain-Mount Wawu. If the weather permits, you will also be fortunate enough to enjoy the magnificent spectacle of the Sea of Clouds.

After about 1.5 hours of sightseeing at the Golden Peak, you will return to the tour center. Then your car is ready to transfer you to Chengdu (about 2.5~3 hours).

In the morning, you will visit the Sanxingdui Ruins, which is is considered to be one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the 20th century. A vast array of ancient bronzes, gold masks, ivory and jade have been found here. The unearthed objects are unique in shape and superior in techniques,which confirmed the extraordinary creativity of the ancient Shu people and their desires to connect with the heaven and understand the universe.

In the afternoon, you will step into Chengdu People's Park to experience the unique leisure and ease of this city. Here you can order a pot of tea and take a nap or join the local people in a game of mahjong and experience the ear cleaning service.

As night falls, you will step into the old street of Jinli, which has ancient buildings, lots of Chengdu snacks and cuisines, and exquisite handicrafts that are lively and interesting folk performances. You will spend an unforgettable night here.

In the morning, you will go to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This is not only a scientific research base for pandas around the world, but also a cozy home for more than a hundred of pandas. You will be able to observe pandas of all ages eating, playing, rolling on the ground and climbing trees.

Also, we can learn how to feed them, even we can watch female pandas nursing their cubs . And more importantly, we can further our understanding of how to protect these beautiful but endangered creatures.

After the lunch, you will go to airport and take a high speed train to Xi'an. Your tour guide will wait for you at the airport and help you to transfer to the hotel.

  • The Terracotta Warriors and Horses--Da Ci'en Temple--Big Wild Goose Pagoda--Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City

We will drive about 40 kilometers to the world-famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses. These Terracotta Warriors were built by China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, to protect him in the afterlife. Over 8,000 life-size terracotta figurines, horses and chariots were buried underground for over 2,000 years until they were discovered in 1974. Standing in front of these spectacular statues, you will be awed by the ambition of Emperor Qin Shi Huang and the skill of ancient Chinese artisans. 

Before visiting the Terracotta Warriors Museum, you will also have the opportunity to experience traditional culture by making a miniature Terracotta Warrior under the guidance of a local potter.

After lunch, we will return to downtown Xi'an and visit the Da Ci'en Temple. This temple was a famous translation site of Buddhist scriptures during the Tang Dynasty. The temple has a 64.5-meter-high pagoda, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built by the Buddhist master Xuanzang to preserve the scriptures he brought back from India. 

If you are interested, you can climb the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (extra charge applies) for a great view of the city. 

As night falls, we will take you to Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City. It is a unique Tang Dynasty cultural theme imitation complex in China, where you can enjoy rich singing and dancing performances and charming night scenery.

In the morning we will visit Shaanxi History Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda . Regarded as "the pearl of the ancient city and treasury of the Huaxia civilization", the Shaanxi History Museum is the art pavilion to curate and exhibit Shaanxi's historical culture and ancient Chinese civilization.

Then we will go to the Ancient City Wall, which is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. You will pass through the Hanguang Gate, as if traveling back to the prosperous scenes on the ancient Silk Road. On the city wall, you can rent a bicycle (extra charge applies) for a leisurely ride and enjoy the panoramic view of modern Xi'an.

Then we will also take you to visit the bustling Muslim Quarter to taste the authentic local snacks and experience the different cultural atmosphere

After the tour, take high-speed train to Luoyang . Your tour guide will wait for you at the station and help you to transfer to the hotel.

After breakfast, You will visit Shaolin Temple, the holy land of Chan and the cradle of Kung Fu. Here you can gain insight into the essence of Buddhist culture and have the opportunity to observe the monks in their daily lives and meditation practices.

Don't forget to visit the famous Pagoda Forest, the largest existing pagoda forest in China, where each pagoda carries the ashes or skeleton of an important monk.

In addition, you will enjoy a wonderful Kung Fu performance by Shaolin Monks at the Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center.

Afterwards, you will head to one of the most popular Shaolin Kung Fu schools in Dengfeng to participate in a Kung Fu training program that will last for about 2 hours. A professional Kung Fu instructor will personally guide you and help you master some real Shaolin Kung Fu skills.

Not only can you learn Shaolin Kung Fu, but if you're interested, you can also learn Emei Kung Fu.

After the training, you will return to Luoyang.

After breakfast, you will start your day with a visit to Luoyang Museum. It has a collection of Chinese artifacts since the Neolithic period, including historical artifacts, calligraphy, pottery, paintings, and more. The "Special Treasure" is especially worth seeing for its collection of tri-colored glazed pottery from the Tang Dynasty and other fine bronzes.

Then you will take a 20-minute drive to the Longmen Grottoes, an iconic attraction in Luoyang that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Longmen Grottoes is truly a large museum of stone sculpture. Both an artistic ex- pression of Buddhist culture and a reflection of the politics, economy, and social culture of the time.

You will visit the main caves (such as Fengxian Temple, Guyang Cave, and the three Bingyang Caves) to admire the treasures of Chinese Buddhist art and sculptures.

After the tour, you will proceed to Luoyang Railway Station to take the high speed train to Beijing.

After breakfast, we will reach the Tiananmen Square, one of the largest city squares in the world. Standing in the North Square, you can look up at the Tiananmen Tower, where Chairman Mao proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China. 

Passing through Tiananmen Square, you will step into the Forbidden City, which is the largest and best-preserved palace in the world. Once the imperial palace of the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. It is a reflection of the highest architecture level in ancient China.

After touring the Forbidden City, we will make a short trip to Jingshan Park, where you will have a panoramic view of the entire Forbidden City.

In the afternoon, we will drive to the Summer Palace, which is the largest existing and the best-preserved royal garden in China. The natural landscape of hills and open water is combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value.

We will drive about 70 kilometers to the Mutianyu section of the world-famous Great Wall. This section of the Great Wall is well-preserved and relatively unvisited, and it will surely live up to your expectations. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is one of the "longest Great Walls in China" and impresses visitors with its rich vegetation and magnificent natural scenery. 

You will take an easy cable car up to the Great Wall. Next you will climb up to the city tower overlooking the majestic Great Wall, which will surely make your stay unforgettable. After the Great Wall tour, we will take the cable car down the mountain.

(Note: If you are physically fit, you can also choose to hike up and down the mountain to feel the sense of accomplishment of climbing to the top).

Afterwards, we will return to Beijing, stopping on the way to visit the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube from the outside in the Olympic Village.

Stroll among the halls of the Temple of Heaven and feel the solemnity and mystery of ancient royalty.

Next, we will visit the Hutongs and take a rickshaw ride through Beijing's hutongs. These alleys, made up of courtyards, epitomize life in old Beijing. During lunch, you will learn to make and eat dumplings in the hutongs for an in-depth experience of the old Beijing way of life.
