What’s the best way to carry money in Chengdu?

Cash is useful for small purchases (street food, snacks), but most restaurants, hotels, and larger shops accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). ATMs are everywhere in Chengdu (airports, shopping areas, near hotels) and dispense RMB. We recommend bringing some cash (500–1000 RMB) for day trips, plus a card for bigger expenses.
