Harbin Ice and Snow World
The Harbin Ice and Snow World is the planet’s largest winter wonderland, a surreal kingdom of ice sculptures, snow mazes, and neon-lit fantasy castles. Each December, artisans transform 250,000 cubic meters of ice (harvested from the Songhua River) and 150,000 cubic meters of snow into a 600,000-square-meter playground of architectural marvels, thrilling rides, and cultural spectacles. Since its 1999 debut, this UNESCO-recognized event has drawn over 20 million visitors, blending Russian, Chinese, and Arctic folklore into a dazzling spectacle that melts away by March.
