Chengdu has dedicated halal hotpot restaurants, especially near the Muslim Quarter around the Wuhou Temple area. Your guide can book a halal-certified spot in advance and confirm the broth is vegetable-oil based.

Got halal one. Near Wuhou area I tried a place all beef and lamb, no pork. The mala still solid. Guide helped arrange and the staff even show me the oil they use.
