The Chengdu Research Base is the most famous panda center, with over 100 pandas of all ages—including cubs in the nursery. It’s larger, more accessible, and focuses on breeding. Dujiangyan Panda Valley is smaller, with fewer pandas, focusing on rewilding. We choose the Chengdu Base for its variety and higher chance of seeing active pandas—perfect for first-time visitors!
