Today you will need to get up early (usually between 5am and 6am) in order to witness the breathtaking sunrise over Mount Huang. After enjoying this spectacular sunrise, you will return to your cozy hotel to enjoy a hearty breakfast.
Next, you will embark on an adventure to the West Sea Canyon. Starting from Paiyun Pavilion, you will hike through this dreamy place. Physically fit hikers can choose to walk through the First and Second Rings before returning to Paiyun Pavilion, with the entire trip taking approximately 3 hours. For beginners, children or elderly visitors, you can choose the length of the hike according to your personal stamina, such as walking only the first loop plus the return trip, which takes about 2 hours. At the bottom of the canyon, there is a monorail to the Baiyun Hotel area, but this is not recommended for subsequent trips as the walk from the cable car drop-off point to the hotel still takes about 2 hours.
The hike continues as you visit the many attractions of Mount Huang. First, you will come to the Aurora Pavilion, which is an excellent place to watch the sunrise. Then, you will climb to the Lion Peak (1,690 meters above sea level) to see the monkey's view of the sea. Afterwards, you will walk to Shixin Peak, named after an ancient traveler who was convinced that Mount Huang was the most beautiful mountain in the world after witnessing its stunning scenery. On the way to the peak, you will encounter the famous Black Tiger Pine, which stands quietly and has witnessed the awe and admiration of countless visitors.
Finally, you will take the cable car down from the White Goose Ridge Station to the Yungu Temple. At Yungu Temple, the park bus will take you to Tangkou Town, where your driver will be waiting to take you safely to your next destination, whether it be by flight or train.
