Wutai Mountain is the first of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, and enjoys the reputation of "the first famous Buddhist mountain in the world". It is one of the earliest areas in China where temples were built, and it is also the place where Manjushri, the first of the four great Bodhisattvas of Buddhism, practiced.

Wutai Mountain consists of five peaks in the east, west, south, north and center of the mountain, which represent the five wisdoms of Manjushri and the five Buddhas. Each peak has a different scenery and a pleasant climate, making it a summer vacation spot.

Opening Time

All day.(However, opening hours vary from one monastery to another due to different sectarian traditions. Most monasteries are open from 8:00 to 17:00 in spring and winter, and from 7:00 to 18:00 in summer and fall.)
